I've been pondering between the durability and reliability of the Sti Ver V struts vs the adjustibility and height lowering friendliness of the KYB-AGX struts. My question is that are Ver V struts not good to combine with lowering springs? I get that impression from some other ppl on various diff suspension threads. Should they be only used with springs that do not lower the car very much? I'd ideally like to get Sti struts with springs that will lower my car about an inch, but no more. Any thoughts on this idea? Thanks
Ed

dunno...
i don't think any one has had a really BAD expirance.... yet... someone has discovered that his struts were leaking.. weather that was realated to the springs/ride height is anybody's guess the v.5 struts seem to be well matched to a spring set aprox 25% stiffer than the 160/160 stock springs also they are REALLY cheep... |

Ver5 struts were meant to be with:
Ver5 or Ver6 or P1 springs ![]() |

FWIW the STi struts work better than the KYB AGX in lowered applications. The strut shaft is shorter on the STi strut. AGX strut have known problems past 1.25" or so. So If you're going for a big drop, dont buy AGX.
