hey
got back from an alingment...they did a good job. just that the wheel sits off centered... i go to a special place too far...and i can't make the drive anytime soon. is anyone in bay area comfortable with adjusting the tie rods to make the wheel centered? without adjusting the toe of course ![]() i would like to learn myself...so if anyone can spare 30 to an hour of their afternoon...please PM, e-mail or post here ![]() i am in mid-pennisula (burlingame) thanks alex

And then you can teach me too. I have a relevant question to ask as well (or two):
Do you have to use any special tools on the tie rods to prevent from messing up the faces of the bolts? Also, about how much does one thread on the tie rod adjust toe? |

I use two adjustable wrenches and a measuring tape. First loosen the lock nut. To adjust, turn the tie rod. I try to get 0 toe, so I measure the distance between the wheels from the front of the tire and compare it to the distance between the wheels from the rear of the tire, trying my best to make them equal.

razor...the answer to ur question has been answered in a post.
search for tie rod...and read that thread. leoneo01...my toe is already at 0 right now. however...i need to adjust the tie rods so that the steering is cenetered. to my understanding...alli need to do it when i turn one end in, and then the other end out at the same distance. this will keep the toe from getting out of alingment. eoneo01 i can drive to union city...do u think u can teach me how to do it? thanks alex |
