Post comparo? re 92 vs 730 wet traction

being that the 92s are an all season tire and the 730s being a summer/perf. tire, is there a considerable difference in traction during wet conditions? If so, which is better through the rain?

hands down RE730

heck even my Dunlop WinterSportM2's are better than RE92's in wet

however i don't know about snow though, but if you search i'm sure you'll find many many posts of people who have owned both and posted their opinions

Here's the deal:

RE92 in the dry: Slide. No tread on sidewalls.
RE92 in the wet: Slide. Just not grippy.
RE92 in the snow: Not too bad, but nowhere near a snow tire.
RE730 in the dry: STICK
RE730 in the wet: STICK
RE730 in the snow: Where'd the road go? (BAD)

Ditto what grimlock said. (haven't experienced the 730s on snow, nor will I ever. )

730s were excellent both wet and dry days at VIR in April (we got both.) Very predictable tire. Next step would prolly be S-02s.

but are the 730's really useless in snow, I mean like "where'd ya go?" useless?

How could you not take your baby into the snow!?!? Our cars not only rule in the snow, but are fun, too!

The RE730's are stunning in the wet - I couldn't believe the grip they have - Wet grip is almost like 95% of the dry grip.

See http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bs_re730_rd.html

My co-driver and I both tied for the 1000 point top score in the last autocross of the season in Sept 2000 in the rain, out of 45 cars there!

You will not be disappointed!

Larry

The RE730s are unsafe at ANY speed in the snow. Unlike the others I was dumb enough to try it you very likely will die!
