Default HKS SS BOV and TXS V1 vs. SS BOV and Stock IC

I just finished my 2 day install on the V1 TXS top mount. Much modifications were needed for install on my specific application. Utilizing a PE1818 I had to modify the coolant line entering the turbo, modify my catch tank hoses, modify my hood...literally with a hammer and wrestle with the IC for a half hour to get the silicone turbo outlet hose on the compressor hole.
Now that I have refilled my coolant, I lost some when swapping out the hoses, and let her sit at idle for 10 minutes to check for leaks and such...well...my HKS SS BOV has changed its pitch.
Mated to the stock IC, it sounded like a screaming witch or a very high pitch squeak. I was told this was normal. However, with the V1 TMIC it just emits the built up pressure of air in a more subtle woosh or pishhhhh.
This normal?
Do I need to adjust the BOV tension spring?
When I purchased the BOV new, I never adjusted it, just threw it on and drove with no negative effects.

Thanks all,
JAy

the high pitched eagle on crack screech is made by the plastic insert thing, mines purple. Check to see if it fell out or came loose.

how much boost are you running right now. remember, the hks's pitch when it blows off is not related to the cfm the turbo is putting out, but the psi built up before it releases. I have friends with t3/t4's on other cars pushing about 6-8lb's and their blowoffs sound incredibly mild compared to mine.

scope the boost gauge, post up what you are hitting. also check the vacuum line going to it.

like i said before, releasing less pressure will make the sound a lot more sedate than releasing more pressure.

Last night I failed to have time to get a road test in, I am running a 3 day old TXS Stage 4 UTEC base map. running the motor to the high revs will not happen until tuning, but I plan to get home from work and get it out on the road to see what happens to the bov pitch.

The purple insert in the BOV is fine.

has anyone tried hooking this bov up to recirculate? i have the fitting to do so, but space is tight to get the return hose routed back down to the old hose(where the aluminum plug went).

I have looked into this, but the path is very tight.

If you pull it off, take some pics I would like to see how it clears the IC, throttle body and intake manifold.

I have my SSQ BOV recirculating. I will try to take pics tonight. I even have it mounted on my Greddy FMIC so routing the piping was even more of a biatch.
