Question It's winter again today!

forecast for today (Sunday, March 30):
Rain..changing to snow this morning. Around an inch of snow accumulation on grassy surfaces. Turning colder. Brisk. Early highs in the lower 40s...then temperatures falling into the mid 30s. North winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.

For those who have lived in this area while, has this winter been the most extreme for a long time, or does this happen often?

PS: Be careful on the roads. Snow on top of rain often = ice.

Leaving Steves last night/this morning it was beginning to sleet. I feel sorry for the people that put on their summer rims and tires already. I never bother with that until May.

Well at least I got all my gauges installed, STI tail lights installed, MOMO steering wheel installed and the UD pulleys in. I have no plans for today so if it turns to ice it won't matter to me, I'm not going to be on the road.

It is snowing heavy here in Richmond. I can't believe it. It's 40degrees too. Huge flakes. What is going on?

I lived in this area from 96-dec 99 and this kind of weather never happened. I move to Japan and come back and suddenly snow is a common thing.

I've lived here for 26 years, this winter was deffinetly one of the snowyer ones in that time, but by no means was it an extreme from past winters. But recent winters have been rather void of snow, so in comparison to the last few years, its the difference in night and day.

I've lived here for 24 years...this has been a very snowy winter compared to the last several. The last bad one we had was in 96, before that it was 94. Other winters have been very mild though...I remember one Christmas when it was 50 degrees outside...

I don't have a summer setup...don't have money for mods...

I've lived here fr too many years. It has snowed here(inches ) on Easter!!Yet you can get a tan on Christmas day.
Last year a major drought,,this year,,dont think so.Can get hot as blazes(with humidity!) in summer and cold as sheit in winter.
Like others have said before,If you dont like the weather in Md,,wait a day,,it will change.
Does make things interesting at times.

I think this was the snowiest Feb. on record for some local areas. 1993,94,96 were pretty bad, too. As a skier, the past 6 winters have been very disappointing until this one. How long have you been in the area, Mike?

I'm one of the people who thought the winter weather was over. I just got summer wheels and tires, but I didn't have to drive anywhere today, anyway.

Where else do you get single digit temps as well as triple digit temps every year?

I just moved here last August. I thought I would never see substantial amounts of snow again. Instead this winter I was able to go cross-country skiing in Rock Creek and Shenandoah parks repeatedly. I won't expect that every year though ...
