i got an 83 in a 65 about a month ago... and the fine is $161. i'm almost certain that 86 is the same fine.
the license plate is a fix-it ticket... you'll need to put it on and get it signed off by a cop. fix-it tickets have a $10 administrative fee. yes, i'm certain =) |

80mph in 65mph on the 91 in Bellflower: $76.00
ticketassassin.com: $15.00 Fighting my way out of my first moving violation [did it in writing rather than show up in court, case dismissed, refunded my $76.00, and no traffic school or DMV points]: other than 3 months of waiting, PRICELESS. That's my story last January. --Long |

I'm gonna have to go w/ Poe and agree that it should be between 150-180.... $300 doesn't seem like it will happen. Friend's an officer in LA and agreed.... but, who knows.
Maybe you just shouldn't pay it. Think about it... as long as you don't get pulled over again, you don't have to worry about it. Disclaimer Edit: If you do follow what I posted here, there is a strong possibility that if you DO get pulled over, you'll get to wear cool shiny bracelets whichgive you the power to enter the barred room. You'll also make friends with a guy named Bubba.. he used to have the cool shiny bracelets at one time too! (thanks Kean!) --Rob Last edited by SR-71WRX; 03-12-2003 at 01:00 AM. |

I think the ticket will be around 200 because I heard the fines get bigger when you are over 20+ the speed limit

Come on people. Lets not forget about everones favorite TAX. In LA for sure, maybe other California Counties as well, there is a 170% Penalty Assessment. That is right. I $10 ticket, is actually $27 because of the PA. a $200 ticket, yep, you guessed it, $540 smackers.
If you didn't commit the offense, which really means, if the officer can't prove you commited the offense, then you gety off scott free. That is something you have to decide, whether you want to fight and try and beat the ticket, or bend over and take it where it hurts (I meant your back pocket). As far as ticket assassin is concerned, people swear by it. You should definitely look into your options before you plead guilty, and pay the fine, and go to driving school. Remember, if you can beatr this one, and instead go to driving school, the next one you get, if it is too soon for driving school, you will get screwed if you can't beat it. So, just look into your options. As far as the ticket, I got a 75 in a 35. I remember the Bail being in the 500 range. ( I got away with out paying that before trial. It means you have to go to court, but if you don't have the money, or like me, was confident I weas goinna win, and would rather have the money in my pocket, instead of waiting for the money for 8 weeks from the City, as they use my share to get interest, let me know. I will tell you what to do). So, those numbers seem pretty close. One last thing, I have no violation convictions, yet I have been cited for speeding 3 times, and 1 each for illegal turn, and driving on the wrong side of the street. Michael |

Ancient legal secret.
I have been lucky enough to get them on City streets, and not the freeway. Freeway tickets are more difficult since you have violated the Maximum Speed Law. On City streets, the violation is of the Basic Speed Law. You have a lot more Tricks to beat the Basic Speed Law. However, alot of the same tricks apply to both types of tickets. You just have to know what do, what to ask for, and BE WILLING TO WASTE YOUR TIME BEATING THE TICKET. I have found that people want to beat the ticket with as little effort as possible. I think, when the money, including the possibility of insurance rate hikes, are at stakes, spending 3 or 4 half days at the court house fighting tickets, and worth it. Others may disagree, and therefore, want to fight by declaration, which sometimes works, and also leaves open a Trial De Novo possibility. But, there is something to be said for making the officer look like a fool in court, and the judge being impressed with how prepared you were. I am thinking of putting my knowledge to work, much like ticket assassin. So, I can't give all my secrets away. I guess a website is in order. Till then, Michael |

I don't know if www.ticketassasin.com has the below link on their website (or if the info is redundant), but I thought I'd post this anyways as a supplement. It's the "official rules" regarding "Traffic court-trial by written declaration":
http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/rules/ti...801-892-10.htm Regards, Kean |
