Default So what do they say about your Subaru?

I exit Harbor Blvd. Sans brakes. Dip! ****! My CD skips. As I pull in to the well lighted 76. A kid comes up to me and asks, "you wanna run tonight?"

Me: Run?
Kid: To the illegal races.
Me: Nah, got work tomorrow. Besides, I don't do drag races. Just some canyon runs.
Kid: Canyon runs? Damn, that's cool! Is this the WRX? Looks badass... Do you ever run the canyons with muscle cars? Is this...blah blah blah? Blah blah blah? Blah blah blah?
Me: Nah...

I see the kid rub my carbon hood.

Kid: blah blah blah...
Me: Ok later...

I keep thinking the WRX's are SRT-4's... but then again, the WRX is the slower of the two...

I was sitting at a red light waiting to turn left... the lane to my right was green for ppl going straight. Brand new red M3 on some big-ass rims rolls up and stops at the green light, and motions me to roll down my window.

M3 driver: "Woah, is that a Rex!?"
Me: (stunned) "huh? yeah."
M3: "That stock?"
Me: "nope... hehe"

<traffic starts pulling up behind him>

M3: "Sweet!" SCREEEEEEEE!!!!! as he pulls off *hella* fast.

Hehe, I never thought a 333hp M3 owner would stop at a *green* to compliment my car! That's the kinda thing I'd do to him!

Talked to a couple of honda guys today (one with an imported civic type R which I almost walked up to the left side of to talk to him ) and they said my car was "clean". I guess that means cool? Besides that, nobody really seems to notice my L and I like it that way.

I think "clean" means you are sticker deficient.

The only compliment my WRX gets is from old ladies who always tell me "that's a very pretty blue."

kid: that's one of those WRX's right?

Me: Hell no. Those things are ugly. But it was everywhere else in the world. It was called the 2.5RS over here. But this one is faster and better looking than the new WRX

I get a lot of people looking...from old people, country boys in there lifted 4x4, etc. i get the usual questions..."that have turbo?"; "is it fast?"; "what you have done to it?"; "what you run at the track?"....and then everyone has something to say about my exhaust(hks Ti)..."thats a big ... exhaust"

Its cool though. i take any chance i get to talk t someone who has a supra or a 97 impala SS.

Wow, sperry, that's anal.

Right after I got my car, when I was going to pick up the insurance card for it, a guy in a Honda matched my speed. We talked through our windows briefly, and he basically said that I had a kickass car. I also had a sales guy at a Men's Warehouse in Dallas talk to me about it for probably a half hour, telling me how much he wanted one but couldn't afford it because he'd had an at fault accident and his insurance would be twice the payments on the car. That was pretty cool.

Also had a kid in Norman, Oklahoma driving a SRP GM6 the opposite way that I was going almost crap his pants because he saw a car like his. He was pumped. WE exchanged waves and ish eating grins.

I had a guy ask me how I like my Kia

A guy I was friends with said how much he liked my car... "it's a wrx right ? turbo ?" I couldn't lie... this time
So I skooled him on the whole wrx turbo 2.0L engine vs. my measely rs 2.5L torquemonster

I was at another friend's house the other nite and her little bro (whos like 15, about 5'10" x 3'.5"... haha, I'm cruel) and his friend were outside w/their mopeds saying how I should put a bigger turbo in my car... I corrected them saying first I need a turbo to begin with... they're like, "oh, that's not a wrx ?" Again, me being honest... "no, it's an RS... no turbo" So they laugh and lil' bro says, "is it slow ?" Me, sad to say... "Slower than the wrx yes, but it's got good torque" -sigh-

He's also the same kid that told me the other day to get a Motech exhaust

Everybody told me my WRX was "cute." Then I got sick of it.

Then my favorite question is "Is it fast?" No, I got it because it is slow and gets 50 mpg, numbnuts.

Then there's my personal favorite "Do you rally it?" Sorry are my bumpers falling off? You see mud & crap all over this thing (no because I just washed it )?

Or "Are you gonna' rally it?" No thanks, I'd rather not break stuff although it would be quite fun!!!

If you can't lie, why don't you simply say "No, it's got a bigger engine than the WRX" ?? That's not a lie, hell, that's what I tell them all the time!

In the 6 months since I've owned mine I've had 2 comments. One guy asked, "is that the Subaru with the turbo?" One woman asked if I liked my car. I responded yes and she said her girlfriend just bought one and she loves it. "It's so cute."

I think she thought it was a Protege5.

one time my mom took my MY98 RS to the store, and this car did a u-turn and followed her to the produce stand. they asked to take pictures of it.

another time, i drove along with a motorcycle rally with my gf, who works at a motorcycle dealership (Yamaha). when we got to our destination, all the sportbike guys were asking me about my mods, if it's fast, etc . . . i thought it was funny that dudes who rode R1's were wondering if my car was fast.

At the gas station the jockey says to me:
Man your car sounds sweet.... I like that whining noise. did you do anything to it?
Me: no just a muffler
him:wow it sounds like you have a chip in it or maybe even a turbo.
Me: Oh..uh yah it has a turbo
Him:WOW where'd you get that done at?
Me:It comes with the car
Him: thats cool maaaaan
