I don't understand why you would get a piggy back when you can
get an ecutek from gt motorsports for $850, which includes dyno
tuning.

From what I heard you can only do it a certain amount of times before the ECU rejects the codes.

I've heard so much about the UTEC. Am I making a mistake???

BTW: Im shooting for 400whp. So this tune is just to get me through my current mods and into my new turbo.

If you don't know anything about tuning, it will be a slow learning curve... Especially for 91 octane. I sold my UTEC and went with the ECUtek re-flash because of this (primarily). Expect to spend weeks tuning (if you work/go to school like I do ), and even then I was getting spiking/knock when the weather changed. You'll start by decreasing the timing by 2 degrees in each cell, and as many have found with 91 octane, you'll end up removing another 2-3 degrees in certain places. As soon as you see knock, stop and adjust. Just keep repeating until you get the desired boost level (I worked on the closed loop boost) and no knock. But definitely try to find someone who knows what they're doing if they're going to tune it for you. I just don't think I fit that.

I have Vishnu's reflash now, and I am enjoying it a lot more than the UTEC. Just plugged it in and off I went (no knock). Right now I'm using their Stage 1 program (intercooler hoses being the only Vishnu part)...

I was thinking of going the UTEC route too, then I read about the new COBB ECU thingy...

I think either right now, or soon they will have the "send your ECU in to be reflased", but i'm waiting for the other version where you upload it yourself...

You might want to look into it b4 you drop big bucks on a UTEC (the cobb is like half the price).
