My buddy who works at Mitsubichi at the auto plaza in Sacramento told me that they are marking up the VIII's by as much as $10,000. Making the asking price in the neighborhood of $40,000.
Could this be the fate of the STI? I haven't seen the window sticker so he may be making sound worse than it really is.

I have a friend that works at the Mitsubishi plant in Normal, Illinois and the bastard is getting one through their purchase program at work. He told me his price is below 27k.
Too bad they don't make them at his plant. He works in the testing department, mostly computerized -- no track time. |

Come to Vegas and buy it. My bro saw the it at the dealer and told me that they are only marking it up 2k over MSRP. U could probly buy one a little less than that if u hassle them all day.

That's a lot to pay for a measly 20 whp advantage over a bone stock WRX.

More like 12ish
stock evo WHP=180 stock wrx WHP=168ish The evo is a joke in my mind. Because I have NO doubts that the .98 skidpad is just as much BS as the HP claims were. I know a guy that drove one, his review was, VERY nice car, but really not much better than a stock WRX. Even at 27k, you can buy a brand new WRX, toss on a UTEC set for stage one, a better set of tires, a set of eibachs. And end up with a car that handles as well as, if not better, Is faster, and have enough $$$$ left to pay for an ugly pregnant stripper for your buddy's bachelor party. I personally cant wait to teach a few EVO drivers a lesson. WRX killer? I think not lol. Just wait till they test an STI. |
