I like your outback cstuck , really cool.

Lifted mine 98' outback with 1" subtle kit. I had no problem installing.
Heres the result, with stock suspension and studded winter tires:

thanks guys its always nice to hear the compliments.
best part tho is all the weird looks i get from jeeps on the road they have no clue...and funny enough ive had to pull my roommates wrangler out of the mud before...Subie is beast!

I started with a kind of odd way to lift it and it was and still is fairly redneck if you wanna call it that...i took the rollers from an off-shore boat trailer about 2" in diameter and cut them into "pucks" 2" thick. I made three "pucks" for each strut tower. Then i placed them between the strut tower and the frame ontop of the top hat. Using the stock suspension. Purchased some 3 1/2" full threaded Grade A stainless bolts and nuts to attach to the frame. Then from adaptitusa i purchased some lug converters and spacers, they are 2 1/4" thick and change the bolt pattern from 5x100 to 5x4.5 (jeep bolt pattern). My roommate had a full set of spare wheels with tires so i bought em from him for $100. and thats how it sits. Hopefully ill get some General Grabber AT2s this summer and run a 29 or 30" tire. Right now they are 30x9.5x15. But they rub on the inside of the wheel well at full lock. The whole lift cost me less than $125...I've had it lifted( not will jeep wheels) for almost 2yrs and it doesn't ride bad, or make any noise...it does feel a bit top heavy with the roof rack but im not a racecar driver so i don't mind

the boat rollers im talking about http://www.yatesrubber.com/uploads/M...e_Rollers2.JPG
the adaptitusa spacers

just the lift no jeep wheels or tires before painting and messing around with it

I want an Outback bumper for mine but otherwise I'm happy. Can't beat the BFG's, best moneys ever spent.

What did the wheels set you back? Will they fit '07 Outback?

I have WRX 11.5" brakes in the front and the BRAID wheels barely clear them. If the weights are along the path of the caliper, they rub. The wheels were about the same as the tires, around $800

My 97 has been put on a combination WRX and STi suspension and rides quite well. Looks almost identical to my 98 L Legacy, and by that I mean it needs to be lower in the front to look good.

Otherwise, I totally dig lifted Legacy and Outbacks

Anyone know of a decently priced driver side fender and front bumper cover? My hubby scraped mine against a pole.

Anna, if you come up with a decent Outback bumper I will trade you my bumper and a straight fender for it

1" subtle plates + king springs.

I did the front also but no pics of the assembled struts.

To bad the rear arches aren't centered over the wheels like the fronts. If they were you cold probably get 29" OD tires in there.
