Default Setting the shift light

I was wondering what the best setting for the shift light/alarm would be. My current theory is to set it with to the RPMs where the torque curve starts to decline that way when you up-shift you are not stuck at an off-boost RPM. Any thoughts?

Did you get your STi yet? How is this a topic for discussion?

Well it's about the STi (or a feature on it) and he asked for our thoughts. Sounds like a discussion to me!

I think that you would want to set the shift indicator to a RPM that would put you in between the beginning and middle of the powerband of the next gear. That will probably somewhat depend on your driving/shifting style (speed of your gear transiton). It will also depend on the tourq curve that this thing produces. That is still a big unknown.
