Talking question to those who got dyno/tuned with stock turbo

In a month i'm getting dyno tuned at TXS.

My mods are:

(never tuned)
BPM 3" Turboback
Catless MRT uppipe
Samco Hoses
UTEC (current in stock mode)

My question is: would it be worth it to get a large TMIC before going down there, kind of like the set up on TXS stage 3? Do you all think it would be "worth" it (good HP/TQ gains)?

Thanks for your input in advance

-Joe

Default WHY

Are you running your UTEC in stock mode?
There is NO reason you shouldnt be running the stock stage 2 map. It would be 100% safe and you would see an easy 25HP out of it. I would bet money on running it in stock being actually LESS safe than runnig it for stage 2.

Have you tried adding a point or 2 of fuel at the knock points? or pulling a degree or two?
Heck man go with the stage 1 map. I just hate to see you cheating yourself out of HP
But in response to your question, yeah man get the TMIC, its just more HP for ya when they tune it
They pulled like 248 at the wheels out of a stage 3 car on pump gas a while back. I know Nathan was saying that the BPM doesnt make as much power, but the TMIC will still add power once tuned.

Dropping all that money on a Utec and not even tuning it?

anyway...of course it would be 'worth it' to get a bigger tmic

Just look at txs's stage 2 vs stage 3

Stage 2 Max Wheel HP: 227.8 hp

Stage 3 Max Wheel HP: 242.5 hp

since u have the samco IC hoses u can stay with stock IC.
i just believe u have stock turbo stay with stock IC especially since u wont be pushing that much boost.
now if u can find a great deal on a STI TMIC or any other TMIC then go for it but save ur money for the dyno tuning.
then go from there.

Vishnu stage 1, of course with stock turbo, netted 221.5hp on Vishnu's dyno and nearly 225 on torque, according to Brett @ Vishnu you loose efficiency when adding a larger TMIC and over work the stock turbo, a buddy of mine has the full exhaust, no cat either, electronic boost, STI TMIC, cone air filter is a good example of the need for proper tuning, sorry D to use you as an example again, we raced when I had just an ECuTek reflash, or stage sub zero and intercooler hoses and put two lengths on him till 120mph with him on high boost @15psi or so...just sayn'

I say get the tmic. I just got dyno tunned there last weekend with a stage three set up plus a few little xtras and I came in at 248 hp and 244 ft pounds of torque. phil said I'm acutually making a few more of each on the road because of better air flow to the ic.

So your making around 250hp/250tq to the wheels? Very nice. Sounds like fun...I could only net around 185hp to the wheels of my Accord without tuning. With tuning, I probably could have hit 200whp.
