Default New top mounts recommended w/ coilovers?

Hello,

I am planning on getting H&R coilovers and I was wondering if it is recommended that you also change the top mounts. It seems like the most popular ones are the STi top mounts. Do you only swap out the front top mounts? Or also the rear?

I would also appreciate any opinions/reviews regarding the H&R coilovers and how they compare to others in terms of handling and ride comfort/harshness. Thanks in advance!

the strut tops will be the weakest point of the suspension if you stick with the stock ones, and there's a lot of rubber in them for comfort purposes but that will also translate into sloppier reaction with stiffer springs and struts.

sti's are popular because they bring the lowest increase in NVH. the rears will sound louder than the fronts because the rear is much closer to the interior so if you're worried about too much noise get the sti tops in the rear. the front shouldn't be too bad, you've got the firewall and some sound deadening on it.

I would go with the STI ones. The metal ones are great if you are only going to use your car for racing. They will break if you actually drive your car on the street. STI are stress tested and designed for daily use. You can thank the big dollars that Subaru put in to the program for that. Getting aftermarket ones like Cusco are great if you only race. Cusco parts are not stress tested like OEM parts. They are great for race cars that are rebuild after every race, but are not designed for daily driving. Most other companies ones are going to be even less resiliant to street abuse. Yes they MIGHT last 20-35K miles, but they will not last 100K miles. They might not even last 40K miles.

I got the STi tops for my DMS coilovers.
Good plan.
