Question Vishnu stage subzero - trouble with CA emissions testing?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone with a Vishnu stage subzero had trouble with passing the California emissions testing?

I doubt you are going to find anybody that has had their WRX smogged with a subzero map.

I think you would pass with flying colors IMHO. The only thing non-stock is a retuned stock computer. If anything this would make the car run cleaner and more efficiently (But with a little more power )

The guys from i-speed got one of their conversion passed with a JDM uppipe (catless).

You will pass without a problem. Where you get into trouble is when you start removing cats. Even then you'll pass sniffer with a hiflow (like in the MRT turboback) but not the visual inspection.

For the record, I had my own OBS/WRX conversion, pass the state reff and smog with a jdm up pipe, FP turbo and Samco hoses.

On a special note: We put other conversions with ECUtek on the sniffer to see what would happen. Emission levels were well within CA guidlines.

I had a stage 1 and it passed easily. The guy didn't say peep about mods or missing cats.

How thorough are these inspectors on the visual side of the inspection? Would a perrin catted downpipe pass?
