Default Perrin IC Hose Fit

Here is a link to the page I created to document the install and issues with the hose fit. Despite what looks like iffy fitment, I had no leaks at all and the hose was really secure. Even with me pushing the intercooler from the sides, the junctions did not give. However, I've chosen to go back to the stock y-pipe until I get more confirmation/corroboration regarding fit issues.

Also, World One and Perrin are aware of the issues I'm having and are working with me diligently on a solution. Kudos to them for their untiring customer service.

Default good post Markus

As I mentiond to you at yesterday's meet, I sent my "y" pipe back to Perrin. My concern was a "divot" inside the pipe. The have agreed to send a replacement. I will examine it carefully to make sure the size is right.

Good post. Post what you learn from Perrin. My experience with Perrin has been good so far and I expect they will work this out.

My hoses are too short. So short in fact that I'm afraid it'll pop off when I'm driving.

Guess I'll take it out, send a pic and email too perrin and see if I can't get a replacement. They're only a day old.

Definitely get in touch with them. Adam and Jeff are top notch guys, they've been nothing but helpful to me in the past. You can bet they'll do their best to help us out. Let's hope that this isn't a major lot-wide issue. I'd hate to see something like this tarnish Perrin's name, everything else I've seen from them has stellar fit and finish. In fact, I'm seriously considering their short ram intake after seeing it several times in person.

Default received my replacement "Y" pipe

I received my replacement "Y" pipe from Perrin today. Very quick turn around and no fuss from Perrin. I mailed the return to Perrin on Friday (3/14) and received the replacement on 3/19. That is about a good of a response as you can ask for. If you have a perceived problem with your hose, I encourage you to call Perrin. They were very cool to me and offered to replace my hose right way. Note that before you attempt to return anything you have to contact them and get an "RMA" number.

The replacement hose looks great. Quality construction, the "arms" seem to be the proper length (i.e., not too short as a few people have complained of). I will see how the install goes this weekend.

ARRRGH! Install that darned thing NOW. I gotta know if the problem is resolved. I was informed that I wouldn't be able to get a new hose until next week, I wan't to make sure it fits this time around.

Nah, it's a piece of cake, the toughest part is the
BOV return hose to the intake. But a little WD40 and elbow grease cure that pretty quickly.

Default update?

Was this issue of length on the Perrin hoses solved across the board? Was this a problem with all of their hoses? I ask b/c I was planning on ordering some a while ago but wanted to see how this issue panned out. TIA!

A friend ordered some Perrin hoses about two weeks ago. The Y pipe was too short to mount up... AFAIK, he's still waiting on a correctly-made Y pipe to be shipped to him.

I bought a set of black ones back a little before this thread started, and it was the correct length - installed without any trouble at all. Maybe they had a bad run or something - don't know how you would cut the pipe so short like that, but evidently they found a way!

Only issue I had was they forgot to include the silicone-friendly hose clamps in the box, but they rectified that right away!
