whoa whoa whoa,

U r saying that u sat in an STI in a normal subaru dealership just a couple of days ago????

R U sure that it had vin # on it? If so then I really hope that I will have a chance to see it before it comes out. How come this dealership got an STI months before it is released and do u know of any other dealerships that might be "Previewing" the STI?

I was there... nothing new that everyone don't know about...
The gearbox is resonably short-throw... I like the interior a lot
better than the EVO too...

Irvine Subaru is probably the #1 Impreza dealer in the country and has been since the RS came out (or shortly after). The sell the most (or the 2nd most) in the country. They sponsor cars in motorsports. They are very close with SOA and give SOA lots of market input, so its no surprise that they have a car at their dealership. I'm sure its not for sale, but was just making an appearance at the dealership before heading out to the magazines or another appearance somewhere.

There are people on this board from Irvine Subie. Maybe they'll shed more light on the preview!

Last I asked they have around 170+ on the waiting list... so
doesn't matter how many they could get a month... I would start
looking for a diff dealer to sign up... I know I am...

So no test drives or ride in the passenger seat, huh? Sounds like the same thing over at the Peterson Museum in Jan. Everything looked great then except the front buckets does not have much bolstering(relatively) and it's w-i-d-e to fit us fat-ass americans. And the blue inserts are more like dark blue. Little things like the shift buzzer and light, sweeping needles, adjustable head light leveler are just cool.
