Default Scooby mods- improve factory boost solenoid mod...

Well I did it today, it was very simple, and only took 5 minutes...
It worked exactly as it said...and for $2.88 how can you argue with that. Boost actually peaks at 1 bar in every gear now...never used to happen in second gear...read the page its self explanitory

I noticed a little difference, but i also installed a K&N drop in intake...so maybe that had a little to do as well.

here is the link to the page

Default Report back in a week or two

So you can finally disprove all the guys that say the ECU learns around it and it stops working. (it never stopped working in my car)

Two weeks yesterday, my ECU has not learned around it. Boost continues to build earlier and hold better. Still getting right around .1 on 93 octane at sea level.

Here is the updated link

i think my ecu is catching on, i dont see the peak boost as much anymore...allthough it sometimes does sneak past it and bump up to .1mpa...it definately doesnt do it very much anymore

When did you guys get your car. The ECU have been tuned diffrently through out the line of 2002 WRXs. I'm not sure but the early WRX were the ones that are less sensitive to changes.

Also I can't get the link to work

Had mine for a year before going to a mbc and ecu never adjusted to it, although I did have a boost spike problem in the begining. I just did a reset and the spiking went away. But I haven't had a problem since then.

The link at the top of the thread is an old one, the count on it was increased when Kastle posted my additional pictures from my install.

So all you do is replace one coupling right? Why are the guys buying two of them?

There is only one to replace. We get two because most are just packaged that way. Share with a friend.

Default yeah they come in packs...

i noticed that kind of spike your talking about...it would just stick to .1mpa or 14.7 psi and than level out at around 12psi...and eventually cut its way down when redline came around....i'll have to check it out again.

Are you guys just reseting the ECU by discunnecting the battery or are you actually reseting with the OBD device?

Sorry for asking all these questions, just want to do it right.

Default weird

i did the mod in the parking lot of autozone, the 3/16 connector worked awesome b oost to 15psi in every gear. when i got home and shut off engine it only boost 9psi max what the heck? i will say it is smooth transition inbetween gears and boosting but 9 psi? what am i doing wrong? and dont say the 3/16 connector? now do i need the 3/16 connector with the restrictor in it or the open design?
