Lightbulb 18" & 19" Wheel help

Do 18 & 19 wheels really slow down a vehicle a lot? I want to purchase some 18 or 19 inch wheels for my 03 WRX but my friends tell me that they will have a dramatic effect on how fast my car will take off. They tell me to buy 17 wheels. I would like some of your opinions on this issue especially the members with 18 or 19 wheels.

Default wheels

wheel size does slow your car down but it depends on how heavy the 18" in 19" wheels are. the lighter the wheel the less lose you have. I have a 1999 2.5 rs impreza model and bought 18"rota subzero rims and they do slow the car down alittle. If you are worried about performance go with a lightwieght 17 inch rim.

you know... the blue one

Well, the larger the wheel the more it's gonna weigh. That means more rotational mass, the more it's gonna take to get it going.
