Default STI steering wheel size ?

For those of you that have had the pleasure of sitting in the STI
is the new steering wheel size a noticeable difference in terms of
knee/legroom? I am 6'2" and have a hard time with my WRX when it comes to the old heel/toe method even with my seat adjusted all the way down and back. I just cannot seem to get my knuckles to clear the old kneecaps and to be honest with you
my wife shot down the idea of me having the doctor surgically remove a couple of inches from the old stilts.

Anyone else with legs like a giraffe have an opportunity to sit in the STI ? I am #3 on a list for the STI and trying to remain patient but I must admit it's killing me! I think I might be developing an ulcer.
I went down to the local EVO dealer today and took a seat behind the wheel and I must say the exterior looks much better in person than in the pics that I have seen. Anyone that picks up
the EVO should be proud that they can own such a nice car.
However, I was not real impressed with the interior. It could just be that I am accustomed to the interior of my WRX. Therefore, I have a biased opinion. I will say this, I found the leg room to be no greater than that of my Rex. Despite different opinions that I have heard that the EVO has greater leg room than the WRX, it felt about the same. Believe it or not, I found the seats in my WRX to hold me in place tighter than the EVO. It could just be my build at 6'2" & 240lbs fills the seat of the WRX more. And no, I don't need lipo thank you! On a serious note I would appreciate any input on the size of the STi's steering wheel. I know it may sound petty, and it is definitely not a deciding factor on my purchase of the Sti, but it would be one less thing I would have to replace before heading off to the local track. Also, I have heard the STI looks much better in person than in pics. Is this true? I like the looks of it in the pictures but my wife feels otherwise. But she didn't seem too offended by the wing on the EVO. Which is a definite plus because that is her point of contention. I say it doubles as a picnic table! But, I LOVE it. Thanks for the info in advance.

I would believe that the STI will look better in person. I saw the 2004 WRX at the local dealer today and I thought it looked much better than it does in the pictures. The headlights and tail lights look nicer than I thought they would. I can't wait to see a black STI!

I don't get it. I am 6'4" with a 36 inch inseam and I fit in the WRX just fine. STi seating is almost identical as far as room near the seat.

Default Sti wheel only 0.3" smaller dia

Yes, the smaller size has been hyped a bit. 2002 WRX wheel is 384 mm (15.1 "), new STi is 375 mm (14.8"). So the smaller diameter will not be very noticeable. And no impact on leg room. I don't know whether the rim is thicker on the STi.

I wish they'd gone to a 350 mm wheel for the STi. Then it would be worth retrofitting.

Please don't misunderstand me as far as my daily commute I have no problem, But the last thing I need during spirited driving
is my knuckles cracking into my knees.

Thanks for the response. I must say it's not what I wanted to hear but it is the first real concrete numbers that I have seen and worst case scenario I will just have to replace it.
