Post Newbie Question, WRX STi 2002 or 2003 better?

I'm going to buy an Impreza soon, and i'm eyeing the STi, but which one is better overall and specifically? The 2002 or the 2003 model?

There is no STi in 2003 or 2002, 2004 only.

The 2003 & 2002 WRX are almost identical except for the lighted ring around the ignition switch and a couple other very small things.

2004 Impreza WRX STi

The first year the STi is being offered is 2004.

The STi is a suped up WRX which is the performance trim of the Impreza car.

So basically you have:

Subaru Impreza RS/TS -- fast
Subaru Impreza WRX -- faster
Subaru Impreza WRX STi -- fastest

The RS and other Imprezas have been offered for a while now. The Impreza WRX has been offered since 2002. The STi will come out in a few months for the first time in the US.

Let's tell the whole truth. The Impreza STi has been available in markets overseas for a few years now. 2004 is the first year that it is going to be made available in the North America. danhtao, if you do some looking around on this board or do a google search for impreza sti you'll find more out about the versions available around the world. But, there's not a fair comparison for the MY04 that's on its way here because there's never really been a car like it available here.

Technically the US MY 04 models are MY03 in the rest of the world.

There are improvements on the US MY04 WRX and of course the STi.
