I got a used Random Tech cat pipe from a buddy that had the cat material poked out ($$ for his dinner was a fair trade). My plans are to jig up the pipe cut, out the cat section and weld back in some straight pipe from Burns Stainless. My plans also include cutting apart the old cat shell and re-welding that over the pipe for the Faux Cat effect, and using header wrap on the pipe to see if the CE will cooperate.
My thoughts are that the big open space vacated by the cat material, will really screw up the flow (espcially slowing it down, which is bad) and make it sound odd. I'm running Borla V3's, with a rallispec N1 catback exhaust (no resonator). I'm looking for opinions on if the extra effort will be worth it. Anyone with a gutted Random tech that would care to comment? thanks Bob
