Default non upgraded stock speaker upgrade

I want to upgrade my WRX stock speakers. From various forums , I have narrowed the choice down to Kenwood Excelon Dual mags .. KFC-XR601 or similar components KFC-XR61P. Also, the Infinity Kappas 62.5i's. Just replacing fronts at this point. I have the door panels off and tried all the sets of speakers. What I find is that each one cannot sit 'flush' against the panel as the window glass hits it on the way down. The originals were the non-upgrade speakers from Subaru -->.

Anybody have experience with this for installation , wiring, using spacers etc ? Much appreciated.
