OK, well my lovely girlfriend was bored at work one day and looked up and printed out all my old auto-x results that she could fine. She somehow managed to find all my worst ranks with one or two good ones.
Well, this put me in a reminiscing mood and I realized I missed that stuff. So now I think its time I take my subbie out to dance with cones. I just have no ides what I should do about wheels and tires for this thing. My VW was a totally different beast . . ! All I know for now is that I'll have to run 16's to work with future motor and brake plans. As much as I would like to run super lite 15's I need to drive this thing daily and at different kind of events this year. So we shall stick with the bigger rotor size. Should I run 16's with super low profile sticky rubber or should I stick to a close to factory tire size? Oh yes I'll have a specific set of rims and tires for Sundays. Could 17's be used or will that bump me a class? Any help would be appreciated . . oh and lets say the suspension will be left somewhat stock for now. If that information is needed. Thanks ~Danny~

Running stock 16's is great. Light and 7 inches wide. I don't know what class you run in but you could run Azenis 215/45 16's. I'd take preferance of getting a wider tire over lower profile. If you have a stiff side wall that won't matter, as for cost it will be cheaper having a higher profile. Weight would be on the side of lower profile as would smaller overall diameter, but then you would probably sacrifice width. For me I like width and I'd take that choice over overall diameter.

for the tires on an autox...
depending on your class, and that you want to stay with the 16" rim, I would try running a 215/45/16. You might be able to fit a 225/50/16, but I think you might have rubbing issues in the rear on a 01 2.5rs |
