Default STI Production numbers?

I am trying to find out how many STI's Subaru is claiming
to release in the US this year.

The EVO # is 7000.

Is that all they are planning to produce or all that they can produce? Do you think we'll see increased numbers if demand increases?

That is what they are saying is the total they will produce, no more than 4000.

First off this question has been asked and answered 10 times already.

Second deadbolt, Subaru hasn't set a hard limit of 4000 cars, unless a new announcement has come out in the past couple weeks saying so. They said they planned on selling 4000-5000 cars the first year.

They also said they were bringing 10,000 WRXs to the US in 2001. Guess what? They sold 18,000 of them that year.

My take on the STi? Demand may be tight at first, but Subaru will make as many as we want to buy.

??.. I thought EVO's # is 5000??
I guess they increased it already?
If that's true.. then no point asking STi's number... I guess
SOA will increase production as well if there's demand....

Default In regards to production

Evolution production, as stated by April's Sport Compact Car: "Production volume is not limited. In other words, Mitsubishi will build as many as it can sell". Page 93.. I'm pretty sure Subaru will do the same, the WRX is our evidence I guess.

If the production numbers arent limited then why the raping on the prices? We as consumers need to band together and as difficult it is to give in, we must take a stand and let these dealers know we wont stand for this price gouging, at least without vaseline!! hehe

But on another note, I need help. The other night I had a dream I was driving my STi. Man I cant wait for this car to get here....

If they sell, they will build it. Money talks and Subaru is in this business to make money.

Places are starting to sell Evolutions for under MSRP. As soon as the first wave of cars are sold, and the "oooo oooo oooo I have to have it NOW" people are driving Evolutions, the cars will start to stockpile on lots, and dealers will sell them at reasonable prices.

As long as there is a demand for the car it will continue, but only at the "rat" dealers that charge over MSRP. In Jan. 2001 I ordered a brand new WRX $1,000 under MSRP. I wasn't as lucky with the STi, but still got the guaranteed MSRP (whatever that is!) when it arrives.

I talked to my local dealer, and they told me 300/month in very limited numbers.

EVO production numbers are unlimited. They will make as many as they can sell as far as I have heard.

At the LA Autoshow, Mitsu rep said they will produce 4600 EVOs for the 1st year. Now I guess they are building more, but most of them never leave the showroom floors in SoCal (even those at MSRP).

The question here is, did they mean first 12-month year, or this year as the first year? Because there is less than 12 months to go till next year, and it's virtually impossible to sell 3600-4000 STi's this year at 300 per month - unless they are shipping more than 300 STi's at first.

Let's just say 3600 is the fixed number for 2003. And it starts selling from next month. That gives them 7 months of sales, I believe, within this year. That's 2100 units. There is an additional 1500-1900 units that would need to come in at some point. My prediction? Either 1st month, or first two months, they'll ship a large amount - and then they'll go to 300 units per month.

Cheers,

Paul Hansen

Thumbs up

I hope I can get the STi within the first 1-2 months.
The car I'm driving now is too slow.

And dealers are known for having a wealth of honest, untapped knowledge.

IBT"Why am I seeing so many STi's when I was told it was limited production"..............
