Most importantly, I want to see A/F plots with both dyno plots to really be worth much to me.

I've been looking on all the forums and I have come up empty handed. I wish Cobb would post this data so I can go ahead and send them my $400 assuming things look good.

I'm rolling into Cobb tomorrow for the reflash and before/after dyno. Except I'm not stock:
PDE Uppipe Bosal Downpipe Prodrive Muffler Silencer hack I'll try to snap some shots of my dyno-sheet... and maybe even see i can snap some pics of some of their existing dyno-sheets, we'll see how much they'll give away. Hopefully there'll be something useful on there for you guys. I'm a noob when it comes to any of this dyno stuff, so i'm not sure what exactly i'm getting by having them do a before/after dyno run... but i'll bring you guys what i get. I'll try to post anything i can about my dyno runs before/after. You can probaby find stock dyno runs all over the place, but i'm not sure about a dyno sheet of stock reflashed, i haven't checked Cobb's site for that, but i'll see if maybe i can take a picture of one while i'm down there.
Cobb's already got maps to match most setups, and where the WRX ECU learns fairly well, they seem to think that you don't need to have it dyno-tuned unless you've got a fairly customized/mix-matched setup. The ECU will compensate for most of the minor differences. Having it tuned may help minimally or might help alot. For a fairly standard setup, having it tuned doesn't sound like it would help much, or at least not enough to be worth the $$. I'm actually not even having them tune mine at all, just doing a baseline dyno run before/after to get numbers on my mix-matched parts, just for my own info so I can get an idea of what kind of power i've got for the $$ i've put in... no tuning just yet as that would cost me a little more. They seem to think they've got a map that'll be close enough. And if it doesn't seem to do much, i'll probably opt for some expert tuning help, but i'm hoping i won't have to as i'm kind of a cheapo. |

Thanks Sandkicker...my mods are very similar to yours (but without the uppipe). i'll be looking forward to seeing your dyno numbers. I think it's a great deal...$400. Good luck!

I actually don't even know which map i'm getting... I just called them up, said i want the reflash and asked if i could come in on Friday. They said they've got a flash that should be pretty close... but also that they haven't had anyone local come in with my similar setup so they're interested to see the results as well.
I'm interested to see the preliminary Dyno... I've seen sites mention that just an uppipe/downpipe should add 20-25hp, but i think that might be a little high... i'll find out tomorrow and we'll all know. ![]() |

Keep in mind that it takes time for the ECU to "learn" new mods. When I first drove my car with the full turboback, I was like "that's it?" but I swear it is still getting faster after a full week and hundreds of miles. I would think a before and after dyno (when comparing engine mgmt vs. no engine mgmt) would only be accurate it a few weeks passed with the engine mgmt in place.

Just ask Trey to give you a graph of before and after. I got one last friday when I was there. It will show both curves on the same graph.
I don't have a scanned copy of mine here at work so I can't post it. Whatley. |

ZZooooooommmmmm..... I love Cobb Tuning.
RESULTS Before: Max Power: 197.9 @ 5700 RPM Max Torque: 203.1 @ 3300 RPM AccessECU - Turbo-back, 91 octane, no dyno tuning ,base map After: Max Power: 219.1 @ 5500 RPM (~280HP) Max Torque: 218.6 @ 3700 RPM Gains: Power: 21.2 HP Torque: 15.5 ft/lbs My Mods: PDE Catless Uppipe Bosal Catless Downpipe (twin-dump) Prodrive axle-back muffler Silencer hack / K&N 49,000 miles 1 trailer-hitch hole in front bumper They were a little worried that the turbo-back setup might not do it since i've still got the 3rd cat and stock midpipe, but with a Turbo-back they shoot for 220 HP and they were glad to know (as was I) that it ended up right about there. The dyno chart isn't that great 'cause i guess the display thing was setup for some honda with a 9500 RPM max, but i'll still try to snap some shots and post them up in another thread... i'll drop a link here when that happens. |

Do you have A/F and/or boost data? What are your impressions of the drivability and overall improvement after the reflash?

Full post with pretty much same info as above, plus pics:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...postid=3651648 Sorry no A/F or Boost data. I think they set it to aim for 15.5psi, but Trey said it only hit about 15 on the second dyno run... apparently the computer will learn a little and things shoudl improve just a little more, and we didnt have time to do a copule more runs which would've helped it learn i guess. Butt dyno says eveyrthing is a bit smoother and a little more zip.. i need to go zoom around a bit more. |
