uhmmm they arent for sale in canada. Mitsu didnt feel like designing a bumper that would comply w. Canadian crash standards and also felt there was not enough interest in the CDn market to bring it over the border.

I'm pretty sure driving it around the streets like that esp if its Canadian owned is illegal. Since they'd be driving around under the false pretense that its a US owner and would be allowed to drive around w. dealership plates for I think 30 days.

They're driving around with dealership plates like Portland Auto or something like that.

Well, I was sort of wrong. They will be coming to Canada, just not yet. Earliest arrival date would be August/ September. Bavaria's is insured in Oregon so it is legal to drive here, but if it were in an accident coverage could be a little sketchy...depending on who is driving it.

They arent for sale yet and last I heard it wont be available till early 2004 since they need to redesign the bumper to meet Canadian crash standards.

Either Mitsubishi Canada never updates their website or the evo8 isnt coming in the near near future. Since both mazda and Subaru have updated their sites to show that the sti and rx8 respectively are coming in June.

Shinta you info is out of date,
the Evo8 will be coming it's just a little late
They want it to be a big surprise
I guess we'll know it's here by the look in your eyes.
Some of us are a little quicker at getting info
so when the Evo 8 comes we'll be sure to let you know.

I really wouldnt have a look of surprise in my eyes as I dont really care if its sold here or not. The sti as of now is the superior car. As for getting this info quicker I never disacknowledged the fact that it will most likely come in early 2004. I really dont see how evo8 will be a big suprise when the STi blew the USDM evo8 specs outta the water.

On top of that CURRENTLY the evo8 isnt sold in canada so hence its not sold in canada. Therefore its not compliant w. cdn crash standards as of yet. IN conclusion if its canadian owned and driven on the street regularly it must have Canadian insurance. If its for track then its fine I'm sure.

But seeming how you know its coming already, maybe you wouldnt need to see the look in my eyes now would you? Maybe you could send me a URL explicitly stating the exact release date b/c I sure as hell havent seen a specific date only late 03/early 04

Hmm..besides the little fight club we have...you are allowed to drive a car to a foreign country for 6 months using your "home" insurance legally.

Just having a little fun after watching 8 mile. Not meant to be all serious but if you want to take it as that, by all means, go ahead.
I don't have any exact release date, just contrasting the previous posts that were leaning towards it not be anywhere in the near future which is simply not true.
PEACE....(and try boxers....they aren't so tight)
