Looking at getting 18x9 wheels for the STI. The vemor I'm talking to has them in a +45.
How would an 18x9 +45 fit on a 07 STI? |

Way too low offset, and my guess is wouldn't clear brakes because of ginormous lip. Those are probably rear wheels for some sort of Nissan RWD.

Well, from reading this thread it seems that 18x7.5 with an offset of +42 would not be okay on my 02 WRX sedan. Is this correct?

Ok, i've been reading this same bulletin for about an hour now... Can somone just tell me is an 18x8 +40 will fit my '02 WRX Sedan without any issues? Tires would be 225 or 235/40/18's Thanks for your help, the guys at WheelsNext swear they'll fit, but I think the offset is kinda low. They have a "fitment guarentee".... anyone have any experience trying to return rims if they dont fit?

Have fun with that... or you could just buy the 17s that have a proper offset for your car...
On a more, sane, note... Currently on 225/45/17 17x7.5 +53. Going up to a 245 on a 17x8 wheel, just not sure if I have this offset math down right... On the 7.5 that I have now, I can't go any closer to the strut w/o rubbing. By my math, I need a 17x8 +46 to ensure that the inner lip of the wheel is no closer to the strut than it is now. This is assuming that given the same offset, an 8in wheel would be 6.3mm closer to the strut than my 7.5s are? Do I just subtract that 6.3mm from the current offset to place the wheel where I need it? ie: ET53 - 6.3mm = ET46? I'm working in some pretty tight constraints: ![]() Thanks, -- Dave |

I suck at math, but if you wanted to borrow one of my 17x8 +45 Enkeis with 235-40-17 tires on em, I'd be happy to lend you one. They'll clear the brakes
![]() Then you'd just need to figure out how 10mm more of tire would affect things. |

I know this thread began over 5 years ago, but if there is newer, more relevant information that anyone is aware of, I'd be happy to hear of it. Oh, and while I'm typing away, I might as well post my offset question. I'm trying to figure out if an 18x7.5 BBS RGR with 50 offset will fit, clear brembos, and not put unnecessary stress on wheel bearings, etc. If this is the wrong place to post, please flame away ![]() |
