Default STi 4-pot Brakes AGAIN!!

Hi Guys,

I just got back from the shop, and they got more brakes in!
Same as before. everything is complete.... calipers, pads, shims, rattle clips!

Now the problem is shipping!!
The more people a get, the cheaper the shipping will be. And this time, Canada Customs and the Governmnent is going to get their grubby hands in this deal by taking 14% tax!! I'll declear them low values (shhhh) But the price is going to be about $600-620CND after alls done and said. I'm going to ship these by SHIP (air is way too much) Unless someone works at a courier company These are all going to be shipped to VANCOUVER! shipping after that is more!

let me know who wants a set.
*NOTE* I'm not a dealer!! And i am not making profit on these. I felt bad for the other people i didn't bring brakes back last time.

thanks,
Jerry

I am putting mine on this Friday. This is a very good deal. I couldn't even find used ones for this price. Even with the shipping added in this is a very good deal.

To answer your questions the calipers are the black ones. They are going to be heavier than your stock....if you know the weight of your stock I will weigh my Sti 4-pot tonight and give you the weight of it. I wouldn't worry about the weight though because the performance gains will far outweigh that.

People with WRX's don't even have to change their rotors if they don't want. However these brakes DO NOT fit stock WRX wheels. They do fit previous model 98-01 RS wheels though.

Ben Tang, regular price without shipping was 570CAD.

Are you sure there's no duty on these. Duty is normally another 6% on top of GST & PST.

So here is the list:
-Orbiter
-topgrinder
-allwheeldrive

Ben: I won't be coming back until August. And then i'll have a lot of other luggage to bring back.

Tora: thanks for the help

Petrie: They won't be duty, cause i'm declaring these parts as being made in Taiwan! There is no duty from Taiwan
And i'll only declare these as $100 per set!

Default Hmmmm?

Hi, well I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, but these will these fit GC8 model Imprezas? Also are these set ups new, what would the rate be in US dollars, if you can ship to the US. Also is their any chance you can get a set of 2 pot rear brakes for a GC8 also? Do you know if you have to upgrade the front rotor on the RS? thanks for all the info, and one last question being when would you need the money? I am seriously interested in this, I haven't seen a price that cheap in US dollars, let alone Canadian. thanks, peace... ~Erick

Ok this get me all excited again - just need more info:
1) I have SS Brake lines right now - would they work or do I need a new set?
2) Given my RS, would I need to up-size the rotor at all?

though I doubt it will change the brake bias much, I would think it still does right? Now with this in mind, I think I need some stickier tires or else the ABS would just kick in

Just wondering if you're getting this from Taiwan or Hong Kong?? Are this the "real" STis which are made in Japan w/ the OEM boxes? you know.. there're so many fake products in Taiwan and sometimes it's so difficult to tell which is real and which is fake....
Also, do you know roughly how long it is going to take to get the brake ordered and shipped?

Thanks

if these were to be mounted on 2.5rs, will you need larger rotors? what size?

will these utilize the stock mounts or new mounts have to be fabricated?

anyone with a 2.5rs installed it yet? will a new master cylinder be required, since you are displacing more fluid with the new 4pots?

will your pedals bottom out with stock master cylinder after the swap?

sorry, too many questions =) thanks

No, you don't need a new master brake cylinder.
You need WRX rotors or the same size which is 294x24mm IIRC.
Stock mounts will do just dandy.

Eric, my brakes are the same as the older TS cars I believe.
Not sure about the new ones. My car comes with single pot front brake with small rotors...(not sure the size). They should bolt right on no problem. Not sure what rotors the new RS uses but you may have to replace them if they are not the same as the WRX.

Don't have them on yet so I can't answer that for you.
I'll let you know about pedal feel after the upgrade is done.

As for WRX rotors do you mean new or used?
Used depends on the seller. You may get them as cheap as $50 or could be as much as $200/pair. They are 200CAD new from the dealership just to give you an idea. From there it depends on how used they are or what kind of condition they are in.
You should be able to find a set for around $100CAD for a pair.
