Default Is the leather shifter w/ red stitching an OEM part?

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...?s=&threadid=4

The last image (leather shifter w/ red stitching): Is that a stock 2.5 RS shifter? From what year? Will that drop right into a WRX with no hacking?

Thanks

No it's a JDM part and pretty expensive for red stitching.

My car came stock with that shifter. I don't know if it's because I have leather and the seats are the same way but I'm pretty sure that it was a standard option on the MY00-01.

I don't know if it NOw only a JDM part, but it came standard on the old RS.

They are not hard to come by. I just sold one for $25.

It looks like the regular WRX knob except for the red stitches.

It feels much more solid and heavier than the WRX knob. I like it. I use it in the winter when the metal knob is too cold

retail is around $70'ish....

and i think they did come on a few of the RS'... that i'm not 100% on...

Yeah, I'm not as old school as you, ha ha, make fun of the n00b.

The two people I know with RS's both have aftermarket shift knobs. Sue me.

Thanks for people who answered this simple factual question.
