Default valve adjustment - now CEL

hey

had cobb street cams installed 6000km ago and no problems. Had my valve lash done, and a week later i have a CEL. I can't help but think the CEL is related ...

any ideas?

I'm gonna reset it in the morning and see if the CEL comes back just for kicks.

How about getting the code pulled for kicks, so you know what caused it ? It could well be completely unrelated to the Cobb cams and/or valve lash adjustment- you won't know if you simply clear it.

Maybe i'm in denial, but i figure if I clear the CEL and it doesn't come back it wasn't something to get too worried about in the first place...

I'm in Ottawa, not to sure where i can go to get CEL's pulled on the weekend anyways.

It's worth phoning around a bit. You may have an Autovalue store in Ottawa. They pulled my code for free, and I ended up buying my own code reader from them. Check your Yellow Pages, probably under "Automobile" or "Automotive Parts". Probably best to just leave the orange light on until you can see what code it is.

How do you like the cams?

the cams are good and do what they are advertised to do, they are expensive though.

I reset the ecu and cel is gone, i'll get the code pulled for sure if it comes back. How much was the OBD scanner?

They had an Equus Innova 3100 instock for $245CDN. Instead I ordered the AutoXray 10155 for $276 CDN. It should arrive in about 2 weeks. Just got another CEL though, probably the P-0420 from my Brullen header again.

I thought brullen had a CEL fix? Cobb sells some sort of header CEL fix too.

I have the same problem and I got the codes pulled. It is a misfire in all cylinders. I only happens at cold starts though. a couple people have said that the adjustment may be to "loose" due to settling. I'm about to have them re-adjusted, so I'll let everyone know if that helps
