Default -6AN, or -8AN fuel lines, the question at hand.

Getting ready to run SS fuel lines in my engine bay tomorrow. I don't ever want to have to do it again. Should I run -6AN, or -8AN?

I am running it with a SX FPR Vishnu fuel rails.

It all depends on how much HP you are pushing..
I would say -8 for up to 400hp..and -10 anything above that..Gerry

-8 is a little excessive for ~400hp...

I'm running -10.....on my oil cooler. I can't imagine -8 for fuel lines, but I'd love to make enough power to require that!

As a general rule I thought that use always used at least -8 lines with fuel applications that is waht we are putting ont the Group N car.

Go with the -8, I ran -6 under my hood & each time I look at it I wish that I had run The -8. I don't think i would ever need it & when shiv put 43 runs on his dyno we never had a fuel shortage issue. But what the heck "bigger is better" right!?

-6 can support up to 500 wheel hp with enough fuel pressure.

I'll put it to you guys this way...Would you rather have you gas going through a cocktail straw or a 7-11 Super Big Gulp straw? Bigger is always better when comes to fuel..And if there is too much fuel going through it will always go back to the tank..Also the fuel pump won't have to work so hard supplying fuel with bigger lines..

bigger is better in most cases. i would never go bigger than -8 though. i am trying to put -8 lines on my perrin fuel rails but its not going very well. so far i can only fit -6 and then a -8 feed line.

I know for a fact that -6 line is capable of 400+wheel hp (432 to be a little more exact). This is with 93 octane pump fuel and 660cc injectors. We could go into the math but I'll let the real world application of the hose in question speak for itself.

I went with -8. What a HIGH COST PITA!

Done, and seems to be working well.

$430 for the line/fittings + $300 for the rails + $150 for the FPR later I have a good setup. Whoa, that is a lot of dough!

I am pushing 40PSI static, and my egt's seem so much lower. I still hear a little det with my ECUTEK, but that will be resolved soon.

Those are some big fuel lines! I am happy...but I am also now broke!
