I think that a person needs to decide for themself if they want to do business with Vivid. I have never bought anything from them and just because I see several people say that they have bad CS with them does make think twice. I agree with what the one guy says about local service and would tend to stick to shops near Florida. I don't want to pay a ton for shipping. My 2 cents

I recently bought a Greddy front lip from Vivid. No info ever provided regarding status, ship date, etc. Phone calls were sometimes answered, but about half the time the guy answering was mostly unprofession, but when Dan answered it was just fine. Rec'd it okay a few days ago.

But my main feedback is "what the heck are you thinking in the way you are conducting yourself in this review forum?" C'mon, the vendor reviews are for feedback amongst us members, and if you decide to reply it should be to either say thanks for the good reviews or to tell us how you are working to prevent the bad reviews from occurring in the future. But being combative with people or trying the squelch the complainers ("call me but don't post your complaints") is not good judgement. I'm looking for a more professional approach in people I do business with.

Just some free advice from an experienced (old) business guy.

Sounds like Vivid and others on here are doing a very good business soliciting to IClubers. Id hire a guy for $10/hr that does nothing but take care of orders over the Internet and field questions/answers. In most cases you have to spend money to make money and the downfall for most is they get used to saying "I can't afford to" when they should really be saying "I can't afford not to." Not everybody can compete with GM or Microsoft, but you can beat them at their own game if you provide kick butt service. I think in 85% of cases, people are willing to pay a small premium on a product for service they know is otherworldly and without anxiety. Again, it goes back to the value of time and how much you put on yours. If you make the customer feel like they are Elvis, they'll go to war with you.

I dont pretend to have all the answers, but Im in the service industry myself whose job it is to field questions and provide answers (web development and telecom). Its amazing how much a customer will talk positively about your company when you exceed their expectations. If I say I will have an answer for them by the end of the day, I try to get it to them within the hour. Perhaps minutes. They remember those things. Nothings worse than having a customer who feels like you forgot them or didnt value their business. Its another reason my company does not use voicemail or "press 1 for this" type stuff. When you call, you get a human, every time, all the time. If we're too busy to answer your call personally, whats it say about what we think of you? Just our company philosophy.

Again, not aimed at Vivid, just more general observations as this topic has progressed. I dont think its fair to talk specifically about a company Ive never done bus. with so I'll leave everyone elses comments to stand on their own.

Ok, so I've lost track on what the main topic of this thread is

Is this

A) A thread to ask Vividracing about parts and their availability, opinions, etc
B) A review of Vividracing
C) A place to vent
D) A place to bash Vividracing
E) A phylisophical outlook of vividracing and what they should do(from looking at the previous post)
F) All of the above.

It seems whatever this thread use to be, it has gone on a long long long long long tangent

. . . I'm going to choose A, on this one

Default vivid racing

I began the purchase with Vivid racing that included an indiglo gauge face and a greddy pod.
After a few days I decided to cancel the order.

I had e-mailed and talked to the staff at vivid and they seemed
helpful. but when i decided to cancel the order I called. no one was there at the time, but i left a very explicit message to cancel
the order. I didn't hear anything back and assumed the order was cancelled. then approx 2 weeks later i received the greddy pod. a few more days went by and i got an email saying the entire order was being shipped, i immediately e-mailed dan and
told him I had long ago cancelled this order. He said it was too
late the order was shipped.

I e-mailed him telling him I would refuse the shipment and needed their address to return the greddy. He did email the address and said there would be a 15% restocking charge since
he had no record of the cancellation. I didn't say anything, thinking it could have been an honest mistake and if they
special ordered parts, well I wasn't going to raise an issue for
15%. So here it is a month later. the balance of the order was never shipped to me. which is fine. but my credit card was charged and vivid did not re-call mastercard to refund my purchase price.

I e-mailed Dan asking his intentions last week. and again no reply.

I have disputed the charge to mastercharge, and at this point
I will not allow the 15% restocking.

Dan, feel free to respond here, or to my email at zafaras@adelphia.net or to the phone numbers I posted

Finnaly I picked up the lip myself. It was not secured in the box, and there were no hardware or instructions. Plus I asked to have it painted, and I got unpainted one. Great job.

hey guys, why should you care about bad vendors. If they're have bad business it's their loss not yours, it's your money take it somewhere else. Sooner or later they'll loose all their clients and you know who will get the last laugh. I'm sure there are many vendors out there that have the same quality products or can get them in some way and also do great business. One I can say is AVsport. I have just done business with them and they're great. I urge you guys to give them a try.

Default vividracing.com positive review

http://www.vividracing.com

Dan (owner) is a great guy, and is also an enthusiast! He's really trying to expand his business exponentially, so there's a few growing pains involved in that... especially with the explosion of impreza enthusiasts!

Just recently, a product was not in stock, but drop shipped from a wholesaler. Turned out they sent me the wrong ALK... for a gc8. Without hesitation, Dan had one that was in stock that day, and immediately sent it off to me! That is what I'm looking for in a vendor, great attitude, and if there is ever an issue (and it comes up with ALL vendors), the willingness to correct the problem! It all worked out, a friend with a 2k1 needed one and blammo... I WAS IN STOCK LOCALLY

There have been quite a few orders I've placed with him, and they arrive in 2 days (AZ to NV ), all worked out great, and Dan does have a lot of stuff in stock which is cool!

Like I said, I think there's been a few growing pains, but Dan is working hard to grow his business and make sure customer service is number 1.

Let's keep this post to the positive reviews of vividracing, please I know there's a LOT of satisfied customers out there!!!

just a suggestion to vivid, it seemes to me that you guys weren't very straightforward with your customers and maybe that's something that could be worked on in the near future. However, i can see that you have a very wide selection of products which is very good for business since the impreza has become a very popular car. i think see a very big future for your company. as i said before, communication with your customers is very important. just be upfront, if an order got screwed up or something, let your customer know, i think that many people will be more satisfied with the an answer instead of getting the run around, and maybe you both can come to some kind of agreement. just a suggestion.

Thanks for the support Lee. I think the most humors thing is post like who is this? Vivid Racing is a company, it is not a individual, nor a home operation. If you certain problems or issues you need to handle them professionally and responsibly as you would want them in return.

Robert - Leaving a phone message is NOT the way to cancel a order as you nor us have no idea if it will get through. Once you order a product and it ships, if yoiu cancel it, there is a restocking fee, simple policies, read them on the site that is why they are there. If you cancelled before it was shipped and you still received the order, then that is our fault as the policies state and there is no fee, READ THE POLICIES.

Right now VR is operating on half staff as 2 of us are in Japan for 1 more week. So if you have a issue, it may be delayed in getting a response. Robert you were actually credited. So if you have filed a charge back and then it is a paper issue. So you need to check with your cc company to see if it has been credited. If not, when we return, I WILL PERSONALLY call you and get it fixed.

Thank you for your continued business with Vivid Racing

Um, no! This is a vendor feedback forum, not the VividRacing appreciation society. Censorship is not an option - if they want purely positive feedback (as many other vendors here have attained), they have to raise their game. When things do turn bad they would be well advised to maintain a positive friendly attitude toward the customer. If you read this entire thread you will notice a complete lack of professionalism shown in this regard.

Thumbs down Colorblind Vividracing

Well, I just received my boost gauge from Vividracing.

I ordered a black one, but they couldnt figure that out and sent me a white one. :monkey: :monkey:
That white gauge just doesnt go with the car, so now I have to sent that crap back and wait another week to get the correct one.

I am definately not satisfied with their sorry quality assurance.

I also have samco intercooler hoses coming from them. It'll probably be the wrong color too.

Needless to say, this will probably be the last time I order from them.

So far, the best place I've dealt with is FastWRX, from which i ordered an A-pillar pod. I will definately order from them again.

Now I'm sitting with a pod and no gauge to put in it.

Memorial weekend would have been a good time to install everything too.

I had a simmilar experience, but on a much smaller scale.

I ordered a pink star cluster badge from them and got a pink 'I' badge instead. Oh well, looks cool too, but i kinda wanted the stars.

Question

I wonder if they do that on purpose to get rid of some overstocked items. Or if they're really just clueless.

And I thought Vivid was one of the better vendors out there? I have NOT bought from them, but I always got the impression that they were expensive, but good.
