what was the offer?
another challenge to call them and speak to them personally or something genuine.

FYI;For the record, I've only ordered one thing from vivid, and the transaction went well.

I have ordered a whole lot of stuff from Vivid Racing and have never had a problem, and every time it has been in stock. I personally pick up though as that I am in Phoenix, I'll tell you though they do have a whole lot of parts in stock, and more arriving daily.

Default VERY DISAPPOINTED

I was one of ten ppl who paid Dan for a pulley kit as part of a group purchase. He was initially very good at informing us of the progress with aomments like ..."Will confirm this to get the correct part"
The pulleys were sent from Aussie by MRT a company that distributes GFB parts. Dan was informed that this was not a kit but just a single pulley...which he could purchase for less. Though we had specifically asked for a kit , he saw dollar signs and ordered the single pulleys. Only after we had received the pulleys did he state the cockup in a " too bad for you guys" type of manner.
He's currently avoiding our forum.
If he were a vendor of integrity he would have conferred with us , or even now refund us . If I walk into a store and Im sold the wrong part Id expect a refund. He gives Ecommerce a bad name and and is a pillar of dishonesty.
Im surprised he has ppl vouching for him . Perhaps he just comes up with email addresses and comments positively himself.

If you buy anythng over the net or phone make sure you have fraud protection.

I'm one of the unfortunate ten buyers from the MR2 forum that has come to understand exactly how Vivid treats it's customers. To say that the ten of us are unhappy would be a gross understatement.

Simply put, I have not received, and am not likely to receive what I paid for, and Vivid's position seems to be "tough luck buddy, we have your money now, deal with it".

A word of fair warning to Vivid: please extend me the courtesy of a reply in regards to the issues I have with you. I expect to hear from you by 3pm Eastern Daylight Time, Thursday August 8th 2002. If not, the proper authorities will be contacted.

These MR2 guys have lost there mines...This is what we get for helping some people that contact us and have nothing to do with our company. Read the below statement by Marcus of MRT. MR2 people you have a problem, contacting the company is your best bet.

My name is Marcus and I work for MRT Performance <http://www.MRTrally.com.au> and I also work with Dan <http://www.vividracing.com/> and speak on a daily basis.

In doing this for the past year and a half has allowed me the opportunity to know him fairly well and my opinion is very different to what is reflected on recent posts on this topic.

There is no doubt that he is feeling pretty bad about what has so far happened as customer service is one of his strongest points (although because of this, he is often caught up on the phone and can not take my calls) =) Low cost mods, effective and perfect fitting parts as with lowest possible shipping costs are all high priority, but sometimes even the later is out of our hands in rare cases.

It is not Vivid, MRT Performance or GFB's intention to "Screw" anyone and I will be the first to admit that there was a communication error. Whether it was my own mistake, Dan's mistake or GFB's is not the issue we should concentrate on, after all we are all humans and are by all means not perfect. The main point is that you have not got what you wanted/expected and we understand your concerns. We all own modified cars and in many cases they are highly modified and raced every chance we get (not on the streets!...well umm? ... As I said no body's perfect. )

I have noticed that some of you have posted your interest in "dispute" which is very disappointing that you are even considering missing out on great products that Go Fast Bits <http://www.gfb.com.au> offer. Utilizing a GFB Pulley kit on Brett Middleton's (MRT Performance Proprietor) www.EcuTek.com.au <http://www.EcuTek.com.au >and City Bank Ready Credit Sponsored STi Ver 5 GRP A rally car, Dan's car has had over time, different types of GFB blow off valves, my own car's as well as Brett from GFB seems to turn up with a different BOV each time he comes to the workshop =)

My main aim in posting my message on this board is to let you all know that we are well aware of this Group Buy and will assist in every way possible with action being taken as I post this.

It is our intention to make available the alternator pulley that has been previously been discontinued. This would require someone to be kind enough to ship to us a "donor" factory pulley. Further to this if we can have confirmation that they are all identical throughout all 3SGTE (or only just MR2) engine models would help ensure success. Doing this is obviously not going to be an overnight exercise and I ask for your patience before proceed. It is expected that 6-8 weeks would be consider average turn around on this project but with the a high priority status we maybe able to reduce this time frame to approx. 4 weeks. It would also be reasonable for me to investigate if this is a possibility which we will need to allow a couple of days for.

Lastly please bear with us as we do not get a chance to visit this forum regularly and if you need to contact me URGENTLY please feel free to email me direct Marcus@MRTrally.com.au <mailto:Marcus@MRTrally.com.au> as we are here to assist you.

Cheers,

Marcus

It is amazing how selective Dan can be. He seems to have left out the part where, after Marcus posted to the MR2 Board, Dan then posted stating that "Marcus Lee has been instructed" to not deal with the MR2 group.

Nice Dan, real nice. Coupled with your other posts to the MR2 Board, your character does not hold up well to close scrutiny.

Okay, here's my situation.

Unfortunately, after speaking to the company that handles my US freight, the pulley kit is being cleared through Jamaican customs as I type this message. So, I'm stuck with it, as sending it back would mean a great loss of money.

Since I can't send it back, I can't request my credit card company to do a refund etc. I am however, going to contact them to ensure that I was not overcharged, as indicated by others in this thrad on i-Club.

However, I'm not about to let Dan or Vivid get off so easily, especially when I see him put a stop to someone else trying to help out.

I am going to make a complaint to the Phoenix Better Business Bureau and ask that everyone else that feels slighted by Dan or Vivid to do the same.

Further to that, I am going to put a special page on my web site, explaining exactly what has happened, and why I suggest that everyone avoid dealing with Dan or Vivid like The Plague. If I can prevent even one single person from suffering at the hands of Dan or Vivid it will be worth it.

In closing, a word of advice to Dan, and the people at Vivid: The customer comes first, always. I've been in the performance parts business for many years, and had a partnership based in the US that had a wide customer base. Things will always go wrong; it is how you deal with them that speaks volumes for your character. When in doubt, do the right thing for your customer, not for your bottom line. To this point, you have failed miserably.

Unfortunately, all I-Club feedback is not only a joke but it is the same reason we do not partake in Forum related activities as the type of people are generally not our customers.
This is from this link http://www.board.mr2faq.com/showthre...&pagenumber=19

Does this mean that Dan feels that the opinons of I-club customers is that they are a joke and are not the type of customers they would like to deal with?
Seems like a pretty crappy way to view your customer base.

Like I said, I had a pretty good experiance in my one dealing with Vivid, but if thats the way they are going to view me as a customer, then I'll just go to someone who respects thier customers, Like SPI / Irvine Subaru, German autowerks, Teagues, TXS and WRX_ONLY.

Vividracing has never done me wrong in shipping and or parts, I have spent well over $10,000.00 with them and will continue to do so. Dan and Rob do everything in their power to find the item I want and continually never fail with any of my orders. I recommend them highly in every regard.

I am shocked that people still do business with these clowns after the lack of customer service they have displayed on this and other boards.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, and you guys will probably pull the "Newb Card" on me after looking at my post count (Like that really means anything).

But i've had AMAZING service from Vivid. I've placed a couple of orders now, always got VERY polite and courteous and not to mention quick replies to any and all e-mails i send them.

The products arrive VERY quickly despite shipping ground and are always in Absolute PERFECT/MINT Condition and packaged perfectly.

I couldn't ask for more from them and will continue to use them.

After purchasing a Type Euro bumper from Dan, I would have to give him a thumbs up. He was good at maintaining contact, and everything arrived in good shape.

I would buy from Dan again.

The parts were ordered from them because they are a dealer for Go Fast Bits, and advertise that fact on their web site. Simple concept really, you order parts from companies that are dealers for manufacturers.

To top it all off, my pulley arrived with damage. Neatly wrapped in plastic etc before it was shipped, but still damaged, meaning that the damage was there before it was shipped by Vivid.

Posted something for sale on the vendor forum, saying that the item would be available in 3 weeks, and then 3 weeks later, tells me they're not selling it.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=225480

If you're not even certain that you can sell it, then don't jump the gun 3 weeks before and start selling it.

i have a hard time taking anything that "khart" says seriously. Considering that this persons first post was in defense of this vendor. and the majority of the rest have been the same.

kind off like a few of the other defenders.

take it how you want

The customer service at Vivid is horrible!! I e-mailed them asking the availibility of one of their products and I got no answer after waiting over a month. I finally messaged them over AIM and I get no response there either. So finally I get a message through AIM and the guy is a complete a$$hole to me. He doesnt answer the question but instead starts going off about how I havent ordered anything from them so why was I bothering him. I explain to him that I have ordered from them before and that my concern was not about what I ordered before but about what I wanted to order now. He asks my name and then tells me what I ordered and says, " you only order one thing from us and you expect me to help you?" I was completely shocked by this and began to tell him that people have to start their orders somewhere. He was a real jerk and we went back and forth with each other. So basically he is saying that if you dont spend over $2000 with them, or maybe even more than that, that you arent worth their time. Well Vivid can go to hell with all of their crap because I know of alot of other Vendors who are alot nicer to deal with and can offer REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Vivid is pathetic and hopefully they will die out and go out of buisness SOON. :monkey:

This is a pathetic kid who IM me on AOL and bashed me for no reason because he did not get a response back in 10 minutes. Explained to him to contact me directly and he said he caould not call us because he would not PAY to call us. Does anyone have a 1800 number? Sorry this is just another beligerent kid who has more time to waste then god himself. We check all email in the morning and through out the day and most people get a response back in 10 minutes, by some reason if email does not work, our forums, our online chat service, or AOL, feel free to call us so we can help you, hmmmm sounds simple doesn't....and by the way *REMOVED* if you give us your phone number, will be more then happy to spend the 35 cents to call you and see why your so angry about something you never bought!

Wow glad to see that you will take the time to make a post but cant return my e-mail?? I e-mailed you guys serveral times and I got no response. Why the hell should I pay to call you when all I want to know is the price on one of your products or availibility in a color?? Kinda pointless dont ya think?? Well I am not a kid for you info and I do own my own buisness so I do know how hard it is to maintain customer service. We have been in buisness for over 40 years now and we still have tons of loyal customers and we have a great reputation for wonderful customer service. So why should it be so hard for someone like yourself to help out your customer. Sorry I havent spent over $1000 with you guys for you to feel my buisness is worthy enough for you. But I am glad I got to speak with you and see the real side of you and Vivid, now I know not to buy from you when I can buy from other vendors who will return e-mails and answer questions. And wow your real cool for posting something similar to my name on here, I dont think that was a good idea on your part and you may want to erase that from your post if you know what I mean. I can start alot of trouble for your buisness the legal way if you want to push me far enough to do so. Well anways i didnt IM you to start a fight and I was already pissed before you respond so it was one of those spur of the moment things, but you still didnt prove yourself a worth buisness man. And if you want to continue this send me over your direct number and I will definitely give you call.

Here's a hint if you dont know why you should remove my name, and how it will cause you legal trouble.
