Default Need mechanic for my Wrex goodies. upipe, etc. in Tucson

I'm hoping to find someone who wants to moonlight, maybe work in my garage. If not then a shop that has experience with Wrex's would be OK.

I've had too many bad experiences to go with an unrecomended party.

Thanks

IF you're willing to come up to Tempe, Jeff Dixon at Arizona Autocare is the man to see, Installed my TurboXS stage 4 kit and also some springs. Seems to be very meticulous with his work and has great prices. He's also a Subaru certified mechanic.

I don't think he comes on this board, but Mike Demrovsky had a fair amount of work done, I think at Apex in Tucson. You might look him up or talk to Apex.

I would check and doubble check Apex, I don't have a good feeling about them. I would also suggest that you think about doing as much for your self as possible. I have yet to find a place that will take the time and do the reasurch to get the job done right the first time. I have found that the Subaru to be a very easy car to work on. All you will need is rino ramps a few jack stands and a hand full of good tools. With the money your are spending to get the first job done you could pay for most of the tools you will ever need for this car.

I have to admit, I didn't feel very warm and fuzzy about Apex myself, either.

It would be great to find another subbie guy, who's done it before, who just wanted to hang out and help me do it. I'm just a little leary of tearing into it without some knowledgable help.

Anyone interested?

I've got the "old" Vishnu stage sub-zero sitting in my garage, pulleys, upipe, EMI, etc. I may just upgrade to stage one and install it all at the same time.

I've also got 50mm DMS rally shocks on it.

Just ordered factory gauge pod. Still deciding on gauges.

Kwan at apex told me he had been doing research and learning about 02-03 rex's, so they probably know what they are doing, but I don't know how many installs they have done new subys. I personally have not had them install anything on my rex, but my last car was a 96 gsr and they did nice work on installing my header, complete bushing set and indiglo gauges.
