Default borla vs blitz

Ok, which do you guys recommend, the borla cat back, or the blitz nur spec? Which is louder/sounds better? I like the rolled tip look of the borla, but think the blitz might sound a little better. Also the blitz would probably work better if/when I go FI. Lets hear some opinions

I have a borla cat, and it looks and sounds awesome (especially w/borla header). The piping is only 2"....but in my opinion it still performs well. I plan on upgrading it to 2.25" sometime, if I can ever find a shop that will do it for a reasonable price. I'm no expert on gains, but I'm guessing 2" from the cat back will probably be more benefitial than just an axel back. Plus the borla is inexpensive..so thats another plus.

Why not do a search? It seems like the N/A forum is the n00b forum. Maybe thats why there arent many RS's that are fast N/A?

You mean do a search to limit my choice of exhaust from the hundreds available down to 2? Oh I thought i already did that...perhaps you know better than I. Maybe you can point me in the direction of a thread that directly compares these 2 exhausts to each other.

And even if i hadn't searched before posting (which i have, many times) what does that have to do with having a fast car? I guess i must be a 'n00b' because i haven't found any discussion on how your searching abilities relates to power of your car...Thanks for your help man.

Default yo

anyways...since the last dude just busted on you for not doing a search (not much of an answer to your question) I will tell you my opinions.

I almost bought a blitz last week. I love the way it looks, and its real loud. However, I dont think its worth getting, unless you either get a catback, or get a midpipe to match the axle back portion. Otherwise, you are spending a nice sum of money or a sound/appearance mod.

So in general, I would recommend a catback, not an axle back. If it was a choice between a blitz and borla catback though, it depends on what you are looking for. Blitz makes a real loud exhaust, which is one of the reasons I acutally ended up not getting it. I heard it was one of the loudest out there, and I didnt want to draw the attention to my car, and since i live in a quiet neighborhood, I didnt want to have a noisy car.

Doesnt borla make catbacks of different noise levels?

If I wasnt worried about noise, and both were catback options, I woudl get the blitz. Looks good, sounds good, good quality look to it as well. I am sure the borla is quality as well, but it doesnt have that umph about it.

I used to have a Borla cat-back on my RS. I was really happy with the looks and sound. I always was getting compliments on how good it sounded. I think the peformance was similar to any cat-back for the RS. Maybe a couple extra horsepower, not going to make a huge difference. The Blitz is definately louder, but that is not to say the Borla was quiet. If you do plan on going FI, Id recommend the Blitz. If not, then Id recommend the Borla. The only reason I sold my Borla was to go FI 2" is way too small for a turbo.
