Towing capacity of a wagon

95 LS Wagon, AWD.

Whats the appx towing capacity? I'm working on getting a motorcycle and was thinking I'd get a trailer too. I figure bike is ~420# (conservative) Not sure about the trailer though.

Would the Legacy have too much of a problem towing a bike, the trailer, and maybe a toolbox or cooler? Its not like I'm going to be towing my Impala with it

Google.com says 2000 lbs. However, my '95 Legacy BG 2.0NA is speced at 1600kg towing capacity for a trailer with brakes. I don't know about US trailers, but here in Europe, bigger and heavier trailers are equipped with a brake that activates when the trailer starts pushing the towing vehicle. I think (but I'm not sure) that all trailers above 750kg of max. weight are required to have such a brake.

I have a horse transporter with (usually) two horses in there and have no major problems - it's slow and the mileage sux, but it goes. I have a dual range 5MT, which is great for hill climbing.
