Post Don't want orange bulbs in your front clear corners but want to be legal??

First post so I'm sure this has been done.
Painting over the orange bulbs with silver spray paint will give you an entirely clear look and the bulbs will still blink bright orange. Since they are not running lights there isn't a problem with temp, etc.

**Sorry meant clear front blinkers on post**

No, the problem with having clear corners is that you lose the yellow reflex reflector.
Here's a link you might want to check out: http://fmvss108.tripod.com/

Brat- I think that must just be the Springs- here in metro Denver I've never gotten pulled over or even got a second look... And I have clear corners w/ clear bulbs, clear sidemarkers w/ clear bulbs, no front plate whatsoever, no lights on my back plate (night only, obviously), and a 6 in. banner! Even at the local "cruise" I've never been pulled. Course, there are a lot of Hondas w/ worse stuff there...

Brat - I can't remember the last time cops were driving around looking at bulbs. I can remember the last time the cops were staring at cars with gold rims though. Just Kidding.
BLKWAG - Nice to see you have the same mod. I never saw your post b/c I was too busy painting my bulbs silver back in March. Seriously though, it's a great cheap mod and it blinks perfectly during the day and night.

Actually I've done this on my previous cars with clear corners but I've always used white for some reason. Silver looks a lot better.

Could you give a little more suggestions? Do you totally cover the bulb or do you just put a light mist on? What brand of spraypaint do you suggest?

Cool

Just buy any silver spray paint (cheapest you can find) at Home Depot, etc. Spray until the entire bulb is covered with the paint. The wind from the spray paint will make the bulb roll. Spray until the bulb is entirely covered. It doesn't have to look perfect, just covered. Don't worry about spraying too much b/c the orange from the light will shine through. Do it! I looks sick and works perfect.
Note to self: Get it done!

Speaking of clear corners, when you replace the stock corners you remove the amber reflector from the front of the car. Is this reflector required by law? I notice that every other vehicle I see seems to have them.

Your lights (for the clear front blinkers)will still be bright after the silver spray paint mod.
As for the question about the clear corners, you don't have to have a reflector(that's why clear corners are sold). You just need to have bulbs that blink the correct color in order to be legal.

Ogden: Yes the yellow reflex reflectors are required. They need to be a reflector that is visible at night. (not just a orange piece of plastic.)
