Default 6 spd conversion on 2002 2.5 RS?

OK, so I've got a 6 spd tranny on the way, and the guy I got it from says that I has all the parts necissary to install it into a USDM WRX. I just want to know what else I'm going to need to get this thing into an RS. I've already ordered the STi rear LSD, axles, and hubs (I'm not even sure I needed all that). Can anyone tell me what else I'm going to need?
Thanks.

If you are using the STi R180 rear/axles/hubs you will need the brembo brakes also. Don't forget about the driveshaft, either the STi one or an AT WRX one. But not the WRX MT one.

I just helped with a 6 speed swap in a wrx. He used stock shafts and did'nt need different brakes.
This swap is a bear, the trans is heavy.

Good luck.

IF you use a R180 you can't use the stock rear shafts. The diff is wider. So the shafts are shorter. The STi rear shafts don't spline up to our hubs (WRX) STi hubs won't work with our brakes. The front shafts (WRX) fit perfectly with the six speed. You can use a 3.90 R160 out of a turbo legacy. That will work with your stock stuff.

Tim- If your friend used a R180 with the stock rear axles that would be a first that I heard of.

You can use the 3.90 rear open diff from a turbo legacy, but the 3.90 rear LSD version from the 1991 cars uses different flanges and axles, as far as I know.

For LSD, you'd need to swap the ring and pinion gears on a stock LSD with the ones from a 3.9 open.

OK, so I'm using the STi rear LSD, axles, and hubs. Now I have to get STi rear brakes too? Damn. Anything else that will fit on the STi hubs?
Jared.

Do I need the discs and calipars or just the calipars?
Also does anyone know for sure if the stock RS front shafts will work w/ the STi tranny or am I going to have to convert the whole front half over to WRX/STi as well?

Just an update of what I've got coming so far:
6spd tranny
shift linkage
cross member
STi hardened tranny mounts
STi propshaft
Rear STi diff, axles, hubs, and brake calipers
STi flywheel and clutch

Still not sure about rear discs and front axles/hubs/brakes.

All your front stuff will spline into the 6-speed just fine (if splines are same as WRX). You will also need brake pads for the rear the parking brake pads and associated hardware if the hubs don't come with it and the rotors are different so you will need them too.

I think I'll hold off on getting the e-brake untill I find out if I have to install the new rotors.

Isn't it funny how parts for projects like this just keep adding up?

Anyone know if the RS has the same splines up front as the WRX?

You think a 6spd swap is harsh... try doing an AT to MT swap.

I could see how that would not be much fun. I bet getting a clutch pedal in there is no easy trick is it.

Tim was talking about my swap, I used a R160 rear diff with a 3.90 final drive swap in it.
