Default up and down pipe post install overheating!

i recently installed a hks up pipe and an invidia down pipe and got every thing back together, but now i have sever overheating... now when i took my turbo off the two little vacume line sounded like they depressurized...is that the problem? it isn't apperant if i'm loosing any fluid...i put some back in after i put the turbo and everything back together to replace what was lost from pulling the lines. i also noticed the chiping sound that some other people commented on, i did not put any of the heat sheilding back on...i didn't think i needed it...or do i? i really need to get this overheating thing in check fast!

sounds like an air pocket in your coolant system. Check to see if your fan is running as well.

yes, my fans are running...someone told me, "Look for any air leaks.
Air being drawn in after the air flow sensor will cause a lean condition, and severe heating.
Also check if any electrical connections were disrupted, I have done things like that, and they took days to find!
Just re-trace your steps, something must be out of place." i haven't check that yet, but plan to...any ideas where that air could be comming from if that is even the issue?

i would burp the coolant system first and see if that helps. take the coolant pressure cap off, get a spill-proof funnel, or a funnel and a rubber ring or something to seal it and put it in the coolant reservoir. run the car without the cap, turn on the heating controls, and wait for the radiator fans to kick in so the thermostat opens. that should get rid of all the air in the system, then shut the car off and top off the reservoir, and then make sure the overfill tank is between the full and low lines.
