Default rural sti acquisition?

as I live in the most major metropolitan area in the world my chances of getting an STi before october seem slim to none....my question to the community is this. Would I be better of heading to the far away lands of upstate NY, CT or NJ ::shudders::? Are all dealers going to get at least one? do es anyone have information as to how dealer allocation will be handled?

Dealers are going to get STiís based on sales of regular WRXs from current and previous years. The more they sold the more they will get. But it is said that only 300 per month for the US, so that means that selected dealers will get about 3 per month if they are lucky. If you are not already on the waitlist then you are kinda screwed. You might have to pay more than MSRP for one, are you prepared to do that. If so, Iím sure you can get one by June or July. I saw this site that had an STi ad on it, and they are charging over MSRP for one.

Some dealers are sold out for the next year!!! So to answer you question, not all dealers are going to get one, and if they do, chances are youíre not going to get that one. Sorry about that. If you want the address to that site email me. Iíll look for it for you. You will have better luck going to a big dealer, because they will get the most. Iíve heard of people on this site put orders in with dealers in the sticks, you can try that. But until May 1st when the press embargo gets lifted, it will be hard to tell. Donít believe any dealer if they tell you they know what and how many they will get, they donít!!!!

Yeah, like he said. But personally I think certain dealers will get a few more than three per shipment, also there's been talk of SOA ramping up production early on to try and get through the backlog of orders.

Similar figures were discussed with evos and dealer allotments, but at certain dealerships people are still able to walk off the street and pick them at MSRP without being on a list. Also some of the bigger dealerships are getting 7 or 8 evos per shipment, but maybe that was two months worth and all this is wishful thinking because I am number 20 on my dealers list.

Most of the talk going on about the STi is pure speculative blather. Iíve heard more stories about this then when the DC sniper was around. I remember hearing on the news that the sniper was, white, Hispanic, 18-21 years old, 21-27 years old, an Arab working for Osama Bin Laden, all that talk took up all the news time and then the truth came out, they were wrong about everything they said, but most people forget all that mess.

Please donít take anything I say as an insult. I am too waiting patiently for my number 4 on that wait list to come around. The truth is, no one knows anything. About dealers getting as many as 7, that again is mere speculation. Even when I called the Subaru Corporate office the other day and the guy said that the car was going to be in the low $30ís, and coming out in June, is pure blather. The truth is, we all have to wait and see. This sucks big exhaust. Just imagine how hard it will be to get one when the STi, hits the airwave.

Arrow Go Rural...

Find some dealers within range and call them.
Mine [in PA] said he's getting 6 the first month, possibly all in one shipment. But I'll believe more details whenever the VIN is mentioned and it can be traced. Better yet will be the e-mail saying it's on the next truck! [Hey, we're all waiting!]

My dealer is "suppose to get the lion share," they are suppose to get 7-9 of them. That's what they all said when I called over 20 Subaru Dealerships.

I hope a miracle happens and they drop the price of the STi and produce more But what are the chances of that?
