Question locking doors setup

My last car was a 01 (last of the 2 dr mods) and it had dip switches under the dashboard to set up the way the doors lock when you start the car. I set it up so when I start the car all the doors would lock and when I turned the car off only my door would unlock.

Anybody have any Info on how I can do the same with my new 03 wrx?

Vince

Did your RS have the factory keyless entry system? This is the first time ever heard about being able to program the door locks like that, (and i have been around for awhile ).

Yes it was a factory keyless........over a year ago I got hold of a diagram of the dip switch set up for what I wanted it to do, it also did other things like how your security alarm chirped and other such locking combos. It was a black box under the dash near the steering column, not that easy to get to. I'm sure the wrx has one also but you will need the combination on the switches to get it right.

vhm is right, i've seen the diagram too, but i can't seem to find it off hand. i don't know if the wrx has the same ability, but if you could send the diagram to me or point me in the right direction that would be sweet. thanks.

The WRX uses a different module than the '01s and earlier, and there are no switches for configuration. There is no information in either the owners or service manuals regarding a key-on locking function and AFAIK it does not exist. If it did I'm sure someone would have figured it out by now and posted it.

I'm sorry I don't have the diagram anymore, it was lost with my other computer that crashed. I do have a backup some place around here, could take some time finding it.

Default What are you so afraid of...

Maybe you should have a policeman ride with you when you go to scary places. OR... dont be too lazy and push the little button and lock your own doors!
I'm sure you could use the cardio workout!!!

why do you come into people's threads and make stupid comments? its not a matter of being afraid or out of shape, its a feature of the alarm and he wants to use it so why are you giving him a hard time?

Don't try to defend poopy pants. If he's not afraid he'll respond himself. I saw him when he was showing off his car and whining about the door locks. HE's the reason we get watered down sport seats!
This is between HIM and ME. (no offense to others)
