STi Sighting?

Maybe I'm completely out of the loop but I didn't know anyone had their hands on an 04 STi yet.

Sure enough I saw one going north out of Ventura this afternoon on the 101 freeway.

The front end looks better in person than on pictures but it's still not my favorite. And the wing looks like it's straight out of NASA, but the car has a seriously badass presence about it. I'm not regretting my 03 WRX wagon, but it was cool to see the big brother on the road!

I didn't see the rear plate so it's possible it was a manufacturer or dealer car or maybe one they released for press testing? I dunno.

No one in the states has a consumer model STi yet. It has been confirmed in a previous post that about 20-30 STi cars were in Southern California in a garage somewhere, presumably for magazines/photo shoots/promotion.

Your story is the first road sighting of the STi, I think. Most likely, it is an auto magazine, testing the car out.

Yay! I feel special!

Another forum reported 3 WRXs in SoCal on loan to dealers... either way it was exciting to see. I love seeing cars that don't "exist" yet. BMW's north american offices are close to here and I ALWAYS get to see their stuff on the road all covered with plastic and duct tape looong before they show up as "official" cars.

Actually there have been a few road sightings, a couple in MI, one or two in VA, and one somewhere else but the place escapes me at the moment.

MI - Subaru R&D test cars

On March 31, 2003 I saw a 2004 blue Sti in Laguna Beach, CA. when I was coming home from school. There was a 40+ year old guy driving. Am I jealous!!!
