Default STi Lights question

This is what Subaru's site says:
---------
"The front fascia features four high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps with smoke tinted lenses and distinctive STI fog light insert covers for a no-nonsense look."
---------
Some time ago, someone mentioned that only two of these light are HID and the other two are regulare lights.

Does anyone have informative comments regarding the lights.

Thank you in advance!

..Ben

Default IIRC...

IIRC the two most inner (Larger reflective type lights are the "integrated Fog Lamps," that the Prodrive engineers incorperated into the redesign. Thus making it only a Two point HID Lamp structure not Four. Unless this is a High Beam HID pattern as well which technically cheating wise would be four HID lamps.

I think you aren't quite right. I dont believe the STI has an integrated fog at all, those reflectors are for the halogen high beams, (separate bulb), and the outer reflectors are the hid low beams. So yes thats only two hid bulbs but I'm quite certain thats the set-up

But "their" site says four and I'm asking those who have seen the car to confirm if it's Bi-Xenon like BMW?

From my recollection, the Bi-Xenon lamps on cars like BMW only use one bulb. It mimics high/low beam with a motorized plate that either raises or lowers inside the housing.

I think you're. Thanks for informing me on that. I mistakenly thought Bi-Xenon was the same same as Dual-Xenon lights.

Default also...

This is slightly off topic, but....

When I was at the Dallas Auto Show a couple weeks ago, I saw a headlight leveling switch in the same position as the fog switch in the WRX (to the left of the steering wheel). Neato!
