Default Fairfax Va Impreza Club Meet 4/17 9pm

i want to start an active chapter of an impreza club in fairfax- unless there's one around already. i've been crashing the DSMtuners crew around here cuz my friend has a GS-T but i was thinking it would be mad cool to get some sort of impreza club to have monthly meetings or meet up for special events. i'll tell you about some of my friend's who has RS and then some sightings i've made on the road...

friends-
Mike- black 98 RS
Bobby- no impreza as of now but will be getting one soon...
me(i guess i don't count) but i do have a white 03 impreza RS...

sightings-
Saturday night- North of reston town center on reston parkway i saw a WRBlue WRX with really nice gold rims, tried to get your attention but traffic was in the way-

Saturday night- Silver WRX in fairfax towne center i rolled by and talked to ya for like 30 seconds-

Every weekday morning on Flint Hill road in front of the elementry school i pass a really nice BRP '99 four door RS with STI pink emblems...

i recognize the aforementioned guys might not want to spend time with three highschool kids and a DSM crew, but if there's any interest for a Fairfax Impreza club let me know.

EDIT: i just remembered, there was an Aspen White WRX in the parking lot of Fair Oaks last night too, it had a completely debadged trunk and a highschool parking pass in the front windshield- are you on here? you've got a nice ride.

Hey,

You've got a good idea, now just only if the few members thats in the Fairfax, springfield area would get together.

I started a car club once and it was great, thus everyone either moved or is in jail or something.heheh nothing to do with the club naturally.

So yeah, I would be interested, and I'm sure SpanMansXe would as well since he's over my house all the time needing help working on his RS.

GOOD LUCK anyhow.

I'd probably be down. I spend too much time hanging out with the newcelica.org people I know

There needs to be someone older than me though, I'd feel wierd being 23 and the oldest person at a meet...

not to sound ageist or anything, but the GDA impreza isn't exactly a "kid's car", and i'm pretty sure we could find someone over 23 to meet up with. what's everyone doing April 11th-18th? i'll be free virtually every day that week, most probably finding a summer job. let me know if any of you want to set up a place to meet anytime in those dates, kinda a precursor-prep for Xpressions

take it easy

Haha, 23, old. I'm 24 and if I go it would be scary being the oldest if thats the case. I work with a bunch of guys where the youngest(next to me) is about 10 years older than me,the rest are 40 something and above(mostly above). I might be in for a few meets if us older guys have our place -James

haha awesome. okay update- i'm planning on the clifton install day the 12th and rolling with the DSMtuners club (i gotta reprezent!!)to fredricksburg the day of import xpressions the 19th so saturdays are kinda shot, unless it's a nighttime thing.

as well, i just read the FAQ... do people still meet at jammin' java in vienna?? i go there a lot and if there are still imprezas meeting there just give me a time, cuz i'd be all over that.

other than that i'm free sunday afternoons and weeknights.

SO what's the outcome, why don't we get a head count and see what happens and maybe plan something for this weekend.

As for the age thing for the other members, I'm going to be turning 29, so I think right now I am the senior in the "group"

Anyhow lets get this going and make it happen!!!

i'd be up for something like that though this weekend isn't going to be good for me. i am going to va beach. not sure about times during the week since i work late sometimes but if i can make it i will. it sounds like i may be one of the old ones of the bunch. i'm 25. i live in fairfax. i have been wanting to meet up with some of the local suby owners. has nobody seen me driving around yet? black with gold subzeros and a "remote control looking" XM antenna?

I'm in Faifax a good bit but I don't think I've seen you. I'm usually in my work truck which is a white Verizon Bucket with a big box trailer on the back, it's really hard to miss.

okay so it looks like this weekend isn't good for people... are weekdays out of the question? if so i'd suggest the sunday after Xpressions or the night of Xpressions- it's only supposed to go till 5 pm anyway.

I'm thinking 9pm after Xpressions on the 19th... go/no-go?

some meeting places i've scoped out and shouldn't be problematic-

parking lot of Target Greatlands on sunrise vally off Fairfax County Parkway- there's a smaller lot to the left of the turn in, might be used for park and ride- or the Chik-fil-a lot across the street. might be good because of it's location inbetween Reston Parkway and Fairfax County Parkway

Or if thats too far north-

Parking Garage of Fairfax Towne Center. Top level is usually pretty open, depending on weather could be pretty nice. good access to 50 and 66- off of west ox near fair oaks.

anyone else have imput?

weeknights would be fine with me provided they're not too early. i have to have a little time to get home and change. i could also do the 19th most likely. i am probably not going to be going out of town that weekend.
as far as location goes, any of those places would probably be good though i'm not entirely sure where that target is. fairfax towne center is literally like a mile from my apt so that would of course be more ideal for me as far as distance goes. but honestly it doesn't really matter. going some distance will give us another excuse to drive our cars and let's face it, we all probably enjoy it.

Sory to hear bout the ride, hope you get it fixed up okay. I'm just moving down on Vint Hill road which is about 10 minutes from here so it won't be too bad. Hey I borrowed my neighbor's Gtech Pro Comp the other night and we tested Richie's car, it did 149 to the wheels with pretty much an empty bottle. That thing pulls like a mofo even with 600 psi in the tank can't wait to see it with a full bottle those new R compounds are gonna be sick too-Later
EDIT: sorry to jack your thread back to the topic

I'm gonna vote for FFX town center since it's closer to me but I'm up for whatever. BTW which one is the town center, I know the general area but I'm not sure which one it is.

After the IX picnic makes sense to me... I might be staying at the picnic later than most tho, as I'm close to the DCM7thGEN folk...

As far as places, I'm fine driving anywhere in the area

So is this going to be "fairfax impreza club", "northern va impreza club", "dc metro area impreza club", or is it going to be a broader Subaru thing? (*ponders website, logo*)
