Default Props to a mid-Pennsylvania Subaru dealership!

Hi, normally i'm seen on the midwest forum, hailing from Indianapolis, but I had to roadtrip out east this past week on business, over to Philadelphia and NYC. As I was leaving the east coast and driving thru Pennsylvania on I80, I had to get my car checked out for a horrible grinding noise that had developed over the last 36 hrs since I arrived in Philly. It turned out to be a bad wheel bearing that lost its oil lube, and I had another 600 miles to get to Chicago and I had to be there the following morning for a scheduled interview on Fri. After calling about 5 different dealerships in central PA, I took my car 2 hrs off course to Altoona, PA to Condrin Subarui and they did a fantastic job. Larry, the tech rep I spoke to was totally sympathetic with my time constraints and even had the techs double up on my car to get the wheel bearing/housing assembly replaced faster than usual. I rolled my car into their service dept around 2:30 pm and pulled out of there exactly 2 hrs later.

Altoona may be in the middle of nowhere but I wanted to thank these guys for a fantastic job and if anyone in PA has a reason to get work done in that area, I highly recommend it.

Ed

I'm buying a new Subaru very soon, and was planning on buying from Condrin. I really like the way they have dealt with me so far. Sometimes it's hard to find a dealer that will respect you when you are a younger person (I'm 22).

This is great news, because I was wondering about their service department and about anyone else's experiences with them.

Here's what you need to do:

Write Subaru of Amerca an email AND a regular paper snail mail. Thell them the great job they did. Give the address, date, time and names.

Techs get nothing but hassle and crap from customers. They would really appriciate it if you did this. Trust me.

I believe Subaru even have awards they give out to people who go above and beyond.
