Default UTEC tuning help

Anyone who lives in So Cal willing to give a fellow subaru owner some help tuning my UTEC?

I think I'm over my head with this tuning stuff, I basically have a stock WRX with the stage 1 map and have turned the timing down by 3 all across the timing map (for 91 octane gas!). My ABC is turned up about 3 turns and I see 14.5~15.0 psi in 4th gear peak.

I get knock or CELs punching the throttle at low RPM in 4th and 5th gear. Otherwise its working well.

Does someone want to drive around with me who knows about timing, AFR, and all that to help me get my car running smoothly?

- John

I've been dealing with that knock from around 2900-3600 rpm for a long time. The best thing to do is have it tuned on the dyno.
Why ain't I done it you ask? I am broke.
So I have spent a good amount of time making many a map for the changes in weather and so on. If you don't have a good W/B AF you will be chasing that knock forever.

Do not be a dummy like me, do it right. And good luck.
Now if you will excuse me I must go make my 1200th map

Default Mattjk would you like to help me out?

Hey mattjk,

I notice you live here in HB, if your not too busy I'd like to ask for some help. Have you had any experience with the UTEC or engine management in general?

If so would you like to help me tune, I'm willling to compensate you for your time. Or I'd gladly just take some advice as well...

Hey onderer, I think I've met you at a subaru drive in malibu canyon once...
