I'd say it shoul dbe good for the GD guys because their cars will be mroe unique. I think any change for the better is good. Both styles are unique and I like them both. They are very different. There will be some that like one over the other, great. No big deal.

Really fat ugly girls are unique too.
But you don't see anyone going out of their way to talk to them, do you?

Change for the better?
Better for whom? Those who bought the MY02? Or those who bought the MY04?
I know that if I was to buy a used car, they'd probably choose the MY04 as opposed to the MY02. The vast majority would do the same, which fvcks our resale value.....

No big deal to someone who didn't drop $40g of their own hard earned cash on a WRX. My mom didn't buy mine for me, neither did my dad. The fact that I can't even get someone to look at my WRX for any more than $28g, after only 2 years of use pisses me off royally.

28g is that they should be going for. Subaru's have way over priced resale values anyways. I don't know why anyone would even bother buying a used Subaru that is less than 5 years old. It is more worth while to buy a new one.

In Japan I was looking at a 2003 WRX Sti with only 2000kms on it. My GF just told me the other day it is now going for about 26K CANADIAN!! So don't whine about your car. You've got a nice car and there are heaps of mods you can do with it. If all you care about is a few appearance mods then too damn bad. It's really annoying hering people who have a perfectly good car that a lot of people would be envious of having just sit around and whine about it.

The last time I checked, money didn't grow on trees. I don't know your financial situation, but losing 25% of the value of the vehicle after driving a car for less than 2 years is not realistic. And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way (thanks shinta-wrx-, I was feeling a bit alone on this one)

And in Japan, it's common for businessmen to make sweet monkey love to underage schoolgirls.

I don't give a damn what's happening in Japan, because it has nothing to do with my life in Canada. The last time I checked, Japan was in deeper financial trouble than both the US and Canada combined..... Could that be why the used car market in Japan is in trouble? Compare apples to apples, not apples to buicks.

Voicing my opinion is whining?!?
gimme a break.

Thanks for the compliment.
I care a lot about all aspects of the vehicle. I care about the exterior, interior, engine, driveline, and overall performance. I still think Ben Tang's WRX wagon is one of the prettiest around, and the only exterior mod I'd love to have is a set of JDM projectors. What pisses me off is the fact that Subaru made MY02 WRX owners the "Black sheep" of the Subaru family, just like they did when they released the SVX, and realized a few years later that the car was a mistake. Of course by this time, a lot of people had spent a lot of money on the SVX.

It's really annoying to have to argue with someone who doesn't understand my point. I love my WRX, but it's small for my family. I tried to sell it, and found that the value had dropped dramatically.

I'll say it slowly for those who have trouble comprehending..... Typically the value of a vehicle will drop substantially when the new model is released. Instead if hanging on to this model for the typical 4 year period, Subaru changed the style dramatically. This turns the MY02 model into a unique part of the WRX family, but an ugly one at the same time. This is what kills our value, and is exactly what pisses me off.

Default Used car sales in general suck

I feel for you hypa, but used car sales are in the crapper, especially for 1-3 year old cars. You've just picked the wrong time to try to sell.

What with all the incentives that the auto makers are offering for new cars, e.g. low financing, rebates. etc... people might as well buy new.

Only way to get people to look at your car for a fair price is if it's HIGHLY rare and desirable (e.g. good conditioned Type-R's).

Have you tried to see what you can get in trade-in for the wagon? They might be willing to give you a better deal on trade in just to sell another new car. I hear new car sales are slowing too so they might be getting desparate. Just a thought.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim, I understand your point, and for the most part, I'm just venting my frustrations. Sometimes you just want to hear, "Steve, the market ain't right, you'd be better off keeping the car."

Thank you for that.
