Question What the deuce is this?

http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=198

Check out the first item on this page - did Subaru make a more expensive version of the Cobb intake? When was this released?

I guess if there's an SPT intake, then no dealers will hassle someone about a Ganz or Cobb intake.

Despite what it says there, the SPT parts do not carry any warranty from Subaru, much like the SPT/STi suspension kits .

Actually the SPT parts are covered by the vehicle warranty if they are installed prior to delivery, and they are covered by the 12 mo/12,000 mile parts warrnty if purchased after...EXCEPT for the exhaust and suspension bits which are considered "For Off-Road Use Only" and therefore do not carry a warranty.

Somehow I think this part would be considered an 'off-road use only part'. I doubt that it's CARB legal anyhow, and I think the AEM intake that I have (which no one seems to like for some reason) is build a little better since it comes with a bracket so you can bolt it to the engine.
