Actually, since you never want it to idle too low you could use a combination of the idle screw and the throttle stop.

Readjust the TPS to sense closed throttle when it contacts the new throttle stop position. Then take the idle screw and open it to full. I bet you could get a 1800 rpm idle easily.

So why are you not investing in a AEM? What does the unichip offer that the link,haltech,tec..heck even greddy e-manage can't do?

you can buy them for about $200... none of the other can offer that...

Right, but its kinda a bandaid for tuneing. The way subarus are, they will learn over the chip or manupliate what the chip is doing. But thats just my opinion I guess. Hey if it works, it works.

The unichip hasn't had this problem at all...

I chose Unichip because i heard nothing but good things about it, and Lachute Subaru has two guys who are amazing at tuning it. It is perfect for what I needed it for and I have good expertise very near me. I see your point though, but unichip was easier to get and I have people who are very familiar with it close by.

Also, i got the unichip before I kenw I was going to do a whole engine rebuild. Otherwise my money would have gone elsewhere I bet, This weekend it will be completely tuned and Ill let you guys know how it feels after that.. and the tracks open soon!
