Default Clutch: 4-pad ceramic w/ sprung hub, OK for street?

Hi,

I'm thinking about ordering a 4 pad sprung hub clutch kit from SPEC. Is anyone using this application as a daily driver? Do you ever bitch about the pedal feel while stuck in traffic? Is there a possibility I can still slip this clutch or ease off the clutch pedal like organic ones without stalling? I just don't want to get this and cry because its going to be a pain to drive if I am in gridlock traffic. I was on a web site and they said this kit is still excellent for daily driving... but I want to ask people who actually tried it before I make my decision. Thanks.

A 4 pad is not the easiest to drive in traffic and not even close to driving with an organic disc. It is something you get used to yes but don't expect the same user friendliness of the stock unit. ALso, bear in mind that cerometallic clutches last very short amounts of time on the street. THey are not designed to be slipped and I only get about 6-9 months of use from them on other applications.

hmm... i hate how a stage 2 kevlar will heat soak in daily traffic, while the stage 3 cermamic like you said will not last... then will a stage 1 organic clutch usually take care of a turbocharged car compared to OE stage 0?

I am in the same boat! I was looking at the EXEDY Organic Clutch or the EXEDY Hyper Single Clutch.

I am not sure which would be best for 300whp...as far as grip, how long it will last, and comfort of daily driving. I just dont want to have to replace it in 3-4 months.

I dont baby the car too much...I am usually on the gas! I usually like to take off from lights all the time

Anyone know which to get??
